  1. Ya I remember when fox would threaten any site that posted pics from the simpsons. That was the silliest. It seems to me that corporations have cooled the ridiculous lawsuits threats in the last few years. no more threatening sites over a few pictures and such. at least I hope so!
  2. Are we starting a new thread for v0.2 or using this one? Testing game that didn't work for me before (may have worked for some in 0.1) Utopia Boot Disc: Almost works! Lets me switch cds, starts to load but doesn't finish. Evil Dead: Hail to the King: Works Chu Chu Rocket: working! (no CDDA support for music) Shenmue II: Works. best with Z write AND alpha Z write on. Last Blade 2 FE: Working, but 1/4 resolution KOF Evolution: Same, 1/4 resolution. Alone in the Dark: locks up in same place at 0.1 Urban Chaos: Crashes at sega logo Ferrari F355 Challenge: Crashes at sega logo NBA 2K2: Crashed same place as 0.1 Starlancer: Doesn't work. SF Rush 2049: Exits to bios after sega logo Games with Echelon trainers now play the trainer, but lock up afterwards. For me these include Fatal Fury Garou, Skies of Arcadia, Rez, Bomberman Online, Tennis 2k2 Soldier of Fortune: Doesn't lock up, but doesn't do anything either. Just a black screen, but the framerate number keeps changing. Alien Front: same as SOF Mame: Same as SOF
  3. Its Mr. Popo from Dragonballz! I plan to change it sometime, whenever I feel like making a sig to go with a new avatar
  4. I put Yop's cheat file up on my yahoo briefcase if anyone wants it. It was very nice of him to put all the hard work into this list. It is very complete! Would be nice if someone could put it on an actual server somewhere. I'm having issues with mine atm. Yop's cheat files
  5. Its true its not illegal to link to sites that contain illegal material. It can get you threaded by the copyright holder though. But taking down the offending link solves that problem. People are too uptight sometimes. I swear on some sites its a contest to see who can be the biggest prig about berating anyone who speaks of anything that might be remotely related to playing a game that you didn't buy! o.O
  6. um, aren't you missing a few systems? my top 3 aren't on this list!
  7. I doubt its a priority for the Chanka team. Maybe the Chanka utilities author might consider it. But I think he's working on force feedback first.
  8. I translated some at http://translation2.paralink.com/ I'd post but its not really important since we'll have 0.2 really soon. I'm just suprised there were so many DC games in Russian. look at all those he has with (RUS)!
  9. Garrofi posted this on the offical Chankast board: woohoo! Can't wait to get soul calibur, DOA2 and shenmue working
  10. use franxis's selfboot batch script. You also need to make sure you have nero's winaspi, get that here: ftp://ftp.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll That method requires you to burn to a cd. you can then make an image from that if you prefer. If you can't burn a cd, try bin2boot, but that didn't work for me. Finally if you just need to fix the vga cable issue, use this file: http://www.intergate.com/~bigjoeroy/imginfo.exe
  11. Economic Left/Right: -4.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.82 Its not a good test though, the questions are worded in a way that plays on sympathies in order to push people to the left. For example: "A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption." The words "stable, loving relationship" are not strictly necessary for the question. The engender sympathy with the subject, even if its just on a subconcious level. Nobody wants to be truly mean at heart, so there will be less people disagreeing than if the question was worded as the more neutral "Homosexuals should be allowed to adpot." However, I'm not sure you could ever create a test of this nature that would not be biased.
  12. nice! I'll test them with all my games. Hopefully I can get my nonselfboots and error games to work!
  13. video card also matters. something by ATI works best. I'm on a 3.0ghz machine with an older ati 9000 pro and speed is fine in almost every game for me.
  14. nice! we need to get a team to just go through and convert and test all the codebreaker codes. And maybe we should start an official zip of.cht files? that would be easier if we start to get a ton of code.
  15. Chu Chu Rocket = NOT working Very interesting errors on this. There's no music (since that is CDDA) but there are also no mice! You win every board instantly because of this!
  16. ah ha! finally figured out why my computer couldn't make a selfboot. all the errors were caused by a bad aspi driver. gotta use the nero version, not the adaptec version!
  17. I've tried quite a few methods to convert games to selfboot. none of them will work in chankast. I get infinite IO errors. If anyone can convert a game to selfboot and get it to work in chankast, please post which tool set you used to do it.
  18. Here's a site with lots of codebreaker cheats: http://www.cmgsccc.com/dc/ Tried a couple of codebreaker lists. Looks like not every game works. The codebreaker codes I found for Project Justice were wrong. I also tried powerstone, and those worked:
  19. Great news! now I need to find some time to find cheats
  20. Blue Submarine No. 6: Time and Tide --Working. Some audio and graphical glitches. Only played through the city screens. I didn't have the patience to get toa point in the story where I could actually go out in the sub. But I would definatley put it down as playable. emsley: This is an alpha release, so it does need a lot of work. Fortunately the authors are hard at work on the next version. I have a feeling this emulator will start to have a finished look in no time at all. What they have done so far is incredibly impressive.
  21. hmm that is odd. I suppose its possible whoever made the rip of it downsampled some part of it, the music or a video or something. that could easily throw it out of sync if the framerate was done wrong on the reencode. But I think SC5 fits just fine on one cd, so that's probably not the case.
  22. wow that is cool. I wouldn't doubt its authenticity. the chankast team don't seem to be very secretive about their progress and have been posting shots of every little improvement they make can't wait for v.02!
  23. Just tried a custom rip of Border Down and Ikaruga on one CD. works perfectly for both games. The selection screen is done through the DC web browser, and chankast handled that fine as well.
