The difference is one is a DashBoard and the other is a games rom emulator. Can't think off hand which emulator runs film scripts/plugins etc. The list goes on. Also can't think of a DashBoard that runs games roms without an emulator previously installed. So thats the way i see the difference, you may have different tools than me, enlighten me. Part two, if you do get technical about it then you'll find that your the one making silly ungrounded comments. Dear, dear me. Anyway i'll leave you girls to it !

The one thing i have issue with, nobody has touched on yet. Imagine the scenario i want to play, say "Mario" SNES version. I would have to launch CoinOps then launch the seperate core for SNES. All time consuming surely ? Then there are those that could argue "use cut files for speed" well if thats the case then there is no need for screenshots or video previews is there. All seems a little pointless to me. An old phrase "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

Just bumping this little beauty for newer members as i mentioned it in an earlier thread.

Good skin isn't it. Im a HD user but if i wasn't then im thinking this would be my default skin.

There a lots of quality skins for this emulator already. The reason being is its so open ended for users to contribute. Coupled with its dynamic skin engine gives it real possibilities. Try some of Gilou/Gilles9999 or Neil222's stuff. I think Frank Morris made one also. They all have different styles and different resoloutions for TV's. I believe im the only one so far to opt for a full screen video for the mainmenu (even in 1280X720) which is a shame as i was hoping it would inspire some of the more talented graphical artist to top it. Maybe they are/have just awaiting release, who knows. Glad you liked it. Will tweak them all again soon when i get my inspiration head on.

No problem, my pleasure. These sort of skins will really come into their own realm with the release of the Madmab Editions of the Xport emulators next month. Thats when the true beauty of their simplicity and speed comes into its own. I believe since this was put together the team are now working away to make a better splash video of their own and make use of Madmab's feature additions. So next month will be a right treat for all emulation fans. There is a "fly by night" emulator trying to beat them to the punch as per usual (ironicly pinching their videos and artwork) but its like anything really. If its any good its worth waiting for. Rx's packs, Madmab's Emulator Editions and Gilou/Gilles9999's skin and video presentation all to come. Users never had it so good. PS. Just remember where you saw it first !

People who use CoinOps don't have a choice which skin to use do they ? Its features are locked to the .xbe. No other way round it, your way or no way. So bearing in mind your skin is locked to an emulator your analgy is redundant isn't it. Anyone could re-skin a Mame variant and release it as a new app. I wouldn't as i would be embarrassed to do so. The recent effort's ive made for the NeoGenesis Madmab Editons will slide easily into the recent Xport/Madmab emultors. Multi functional. lol. Let's see what the summer brings emulator wise !

lol. Your so wrong on so many levels. Alpha channels lol, its not rocket science. Unnecessary for 99% of job's, very good at hiding untidy graphics or bad video. Coupled with the fact it bloats file size. Do the job properly in the first place then it's not required, just file clutter. I will give you the chance to answer 2 questions. 1. Why was CoinOps never added to xbins ? (i know) 2. Why no other person has bothered making skins for CoinOps ? (i know this too) PS. Alpha Channels is not the answer to question 2. lol.
