ok, i think i got the battle system figured out a little bit. First of all, note the actions that can be chosen are at the bottom right of the screen. 1. 1st orb is for normal slash 2. Last one is for items. 3. Anything in between is for the command and spells materias that you equipped. For items, you would have to memorise the name of the items though. When you choose "item", you will get to select which items can be used. Choosing is using L and R. The first thing you must remember is you are choosing for your NEXT actions. So, basically you can just choose like this: Slash ----> Slash -------> Slash ------> Slash (up to 4 times) but there is a certain timing to it. OR Slash----> Slash -------> Heal ------> Slash (the first slash animation again). Of course, if you are interrupted during the actions, you will have to start again. Also note that you can cancel the actions by either roll dogde (Square) or press X. So you can do something like: Slasj ----> Slash -----> Inputting the 3rd slash but cancel it using roll dodge as you see an attack is incoming ------> fireball ----> slash etc etc. i think you get the idea. You need to note that roll dodge need AP, so watch it especially during boss fights. Command attacks also consume AP. The Roulette / DMW system is random, but it can help you break the limit of your AP, MP and HP gauge when it get certain number on it. You need to get at least 2 pictures together to get the DMW sequences starting. You can;t control it much, even the summon is random, In one battle, i couldn't even get a summon and in one battle, i kept on summoning Bahamut All in all, a pretty interesting battle system. if only i know Japanese, then i would know the rewards the DMW system is rewarding. All i know is sometimes it can bestow auto-guard or healing or something. Hope this helps
