  1. so it won't work? (trying to sift through all the different posts is mad crazy) edit - no it doesn't work
  2. mame dump is the original (plus the various fixes) the dev dump is the same stuff just hacked up and thrown back into a different order and sizes.
  3. i was speaking concerning the rom mentioned on the last page of this thread http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php...opic=4552&st=70 i downloaded it and it's not the mame or the kawaks dev p1 rom...
  4. which romset does the new kof2k3 p1 rom use? original dump or the kawaks dev dump? -jin
  5. hey...i had this problem as well...what you need to do is take a hex editor and create two c roms of that size filled with only zeroes (blank data) since it checks for rom-name after the CRC isn't found, it will load them in and fill the needed requirements needed to load the rom....and viola. you're all set. -jin
  6. hmmm....i don't know what this p1 he just posted is, but i started comparing the hex and it's hella different... perhaps he's right? someone let me know dammit...(my computer is STILL comparing this crap) -jin okay...i compared em and it's way different (as i stated before) - it has much of the same setup as ssV, but i'm still not sure as to what rom order it uses - i'm guessing the original dump, but that leads me to wonder, why the bl on the p1? anyone have any input on this?
  7. you've probably got the right files, they are just either a) named incorrectly or have the wrong crc. There are tons of versions of some roms out there. Your best best is to get the original Kawaks and make a clrmamepro dat file, then loading the dat file into clrmamepro. THEN allow clrmamepro to go through and fix your roms. It's a pain to understand at first, but once you get the hang of it, Clrmamepro will be one of your best friends -jin
  8. N3oGhost, i sent poirot a message saying i'd test files for him, but since you mentioned it in the open, i believe if he just got with select people (those who are willing to help) and send the files to those people or posting them in a dedicated efnet room on IRC or somethin...just an idea. there are TONS of us willing to help. Pooling resources like yours, Mr.X's, and Poirots is a great idea. -jin
  9. hey poirot, good work as always and to the final paragraph concerning the emulation "elite" amen brother...you hit it on the head. there is nothing more that i despise about the whole emulation 'scene' than hipocrisy. oh well....life goes on. -jin
  10. i'm not sure if i've spoken to Prican about this before, but someone has probably realized this and perhaps tried it. rehacking the rom size to accept the 16m C files... the only problem is the P rom is still encrypted i think....that and it's wacky....if we could somehow decrypt it, we may be able to get it working using the kawaks dev set. .....or i may just be talking out my ass again... also - Mr.X - how were you able to locate the rom size hexes in order to chane them? I'm very curious concerning this. -jin
  11. so does that mean we can decrypt it using a hacked kawaks? -jin
  12. as far as I know, i don't think it's playable in anything yet. I'd like to have it running on Kawax just to round out my collection, but before that happens, I need it to be fully decrypted. Apparently, the ALL the roms, except the V rom are encrypted. So that leaves me with little to work with except the C roms. If anyone has had any luck with that, let me know. -jin
  13. i was thinkin about doing that....i'm going to look into it further today and let people know what i find. the thing is that the xpr grfx are encoded and you have to extract them somehow...i suppose i'll work on someway to pull it out. -jin
  14. yeah, i'm like the rest of you guys, i'm up for waiting. what's to stop someone else from hacking it? lol. anyway, i imagine a lot of us have readied our hex to incorporate kof2k3. i really wish someone would figure out a way to change the background on the menu...that grey is really starting to bother me...haha anyway, bleh -jin
  15. Well, after reading and reading, i finally decided to join this board...haha here's what i've done so far. i've figured out that kof2k3 is made up of the same number of files as PIM/KoF98 (big whoop right) p1 and p2 are both 4 megs s1 is 128k m1d is 512k v's are 4 megs each c's are 8 megs each what all does this mean... the following files fit - p2, s1, all the v roms, and all the c roms. the following files don't fit - p1 and m1d Now i know some of you are like me and use multiple instances of kawax. I use the original kawax+ and my own custom edited kawaxse for MS5 and SSV. I've noticed that SOMEONE has the knowledge out there to fix this problem or at least pass the info onto those of us who have the know how to edit the xbe. heh. How could i change the p1 value from 1m to 4m and how could i change the m1d value from 128k to 512k? someone said something about the m1 roms on other games being bigger than their 'cloned' counterparts? would that mean you could just make an 8m p1 rom and run it over SSV? thanks in advance. -jin
