  1. I think that's actually what I used when I first had it, thanks for the reminder I'll try some of these other DATs as well
  2. alright... I tried WinISO yesterday with METAL GEAR SOLID: VR MISSIONS and was hoping for the audio tracks to just be right there after I extracted everything... apparently this isn't the case. it WAS when I did it for Samurai Shodown 4 on saturn, but I guess this is different. I would up with a bunch of files my comp can't read. how do I access the audio of the game after ripping the ISO onto my computer?
  3. wait a sec how do I find the CRC? I unzipped it and opened the rom in notepad, I'm gonna assume that won't help, lol.
  4. sorry 2 be a pain in the ass but what would i do to modify it... uh... my copy of the rom is all graphical blitter, but it plays. 268_c1.rom 268_c2.rom 268_c3.rom 268_c4.rom 268_c5.rom 268_c6.rom 268_c7.rom 268_c8.rom 268_m1.rom 268_p1.rom 268_s1.rom 268_v1.rom 268_v2.rom 268_v3.rom 268_v4.rom there's my set. what do I do next?
  5. my comp recently got fried and I'm getting things back together. I have the SITwulf loader of kawaks, but it doesn't have all the dats on the main dat that I had before i lost it. could somebody please post the metal slug 5 dat? I'd appreciate it. thanks.
  6. another pipe dream dies hard heh, thanks anyway agozer
  7. I wanted to get more game music onto my computer. I've got a bunch of disc media now, from saturn thru PS2, and I realize that I can rip the earlier disc media (saturn, PS1, DC?) with that... but I wanted to try it with PS2 discs. namely lament of innocense. great music in there. winISO didn't do it. this is because (I remembered after the disc wouldn't read) I have a cd drive, and PS2 media is dvd rom. is it at all possible for a cd drive to read dvd media? I could have sworn I saw it advertized a long time ago and I'd really like to get something like this going. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I just think it's a simple concept that's easy to build on. the object is always to defeat your opponent, but they just think up a new way to do it with each game. I think the games that allow the most different styles of play would be Last Blade 2 and Samurai Shodown 5. I was especially amazed when the Mu No Koitchi gauge was introduced in 5, because that allows for two completely different strategies: bum rush them and rage explode for the kill if you're opponent doesn't pose much of a challenge, or fight it out in a struggle and meditate, so you'll have the upper hand with a large Mu No Koitchi gauge when it finally comes down to the wire. that I think is the latest example that shows how this genre can always evolve and always be fun to play. thus, I love fighting games
  9. I agree. She even helps you out in figuring out he "wave", for god's sake. true... but that doesn't change the fact that she's invincible while she does it, and that if even ONE catches you... ALLLLL of them do. even if u block ur in chipping damage hell, and if u use ur meter 2 reflect u'll prolly run out
  10. Well, I can't pick one. but I must say that Capcom and SNK are of course my top picks. you could argue about it all day, but as far as I know Capcom still pioneered the one on one fighting experience. if there IS a game before the original street fighter, or before street fighter 2 for that matter, that IS in the same vein, gimme a shout. I think that Arc system works is doing a good job with Guilty Gear, but their games are still a little bit buggy. Millia is incredibly unfair no matter how you slice it, and the last boss I fought in X2 was impossible. but that was alright, cuz I was really determined 2 kick her ass. I got to this "shin I-No" boss with Sol and just kept plunking tokens in the machine til I was out. it was I-No alright... but she had the ability to sprout wings and shoot out projectiles by the thousands. I have no clue what it was but it was rediculously difficult. I give a thumbs down to midway for the most part. Mortal Kombat started getting fun by the third installment, but if you took the gore away from the originals then what would it be? nothing but a low quality rip off of the street fighter series. I also think that the gore is a complete joke, ever since Deadly Alliance came out. they promised realistic fatalities, and when I saw sub-zero ripping some guy's SKELETAL SYSTEM out of his back, I lost faith. Namco is an incredible company all around, and I'd say that Tekken is Easily up there with the greatest 3D fighters of all time. I dunno if that or Virtua Fighter takes the prize though, that's another dead heat. as far as others go, whoever made Weaponlord made a pretty noteworthy game. it was extremely difficult, but if one was able to master it it could be as deep as last blade, if not more so. SNK's offshoot Noise Factory did an AWESOME job with Rage of the Dragons and Matrimelee if you ask me, more so with matrimelee though. only problem they have as of yet is bosses are incredibly extreme. and of course I mentioned sega earlier on for Pioneering 3D fighting with Virtua Fighter. there's my take. layta
  11. sry this is off topic, but is the game even working in NRX yet?
  12. my only problem is saving it as a dat. I have seen no file in either my mame or my kawaks folder that says cheats.dat. if I did see such a file, I'd know exactly what to do. but I DON'T see such a file. that's why I'm here
  13. well, in kawaks I have a bunch of seperate dats that work for seperate games, but no one dat that just says "cheats". I had 2 make my own cheats folder for my mame, and I just threw a notepad in the for Kof03. needless 2 say, no good. any ideas?
  14. Well... alright... I dunno how to do this. I've been copying and pasting some of the cheats I've seen here (namely Real Bout 2 for Kawaks) into a notepad. that one's a note pad. the ones I've downloaded from haggars site are all dats. I'm thinkin "ok. well how do I make that into a dat". for the hell of it I left it as a notepad. no good. I see the cheats for Kof03 and I'd really REALLY like to check those out in my MAME hack for it, but I dunno how 2 make or use cheats frankly!... eh... well any help is thanked much in advance, so if u can give me a hand I'd appreciate it.
  15. I haven't actually seen any of this yet, but I guess now it makes enough sense. if you ask me, neo geo has aged just fine, and just keeps w/ the times in each game, but I of course am a hardcore follower of that system, and I guess there aren't that many of us left. that's not good for playmore's business, so I guess atomiswave is a good idea. not being able to emulate at home is sort of a bummer at first, but I say find a local arcade, a BIG one, and wait for these new titles and play em there. nothin quite like a brand spankin new cabinet from ur favorite game developers
  16. I wonder when that will actually happen...it's been a while since it came out. true this is GK... one other question, how long has neogamez's roms been down for, and do those new ones :SSV, SVC, etc.: actually work for NEORAGE as the site advertizes?
  17. you guys do have cheats that work with the game... but its there a version of the game that'll work w/ the 1.45 loader yet? I have the dat and the cheats are right there as I see... but uh... did I miss something? note to mods I'm sorry to be an idiot about it but I'm just confused.
  18. Thanks ForceX. , It's nice to know some people understand. heh I admit that all of that IS true... but for one thing... how often does something like that happen? I don't think you'd just randomly get a "let's lay. right now." unless u were at the right city street corner at the right time OR you were starring in an "adult entertainment production". me... I'm 18, still untouched, but I'm kinduvan odd type. I've had a few opportunities and I know it. hell there's this one chick I know who has her pad free every weekend, and she hinted at that a few times, and at first I'd really consider it, and then feel like an idiot for even considering it. the thing w/ me is all I want is the girl's heart, and I leave the territory of sex up 2 her. I think w/ love and consent, hell yes, but just playin em and payin for their cab fair home, hell naw. this is one man's opinion though do what you will. to each their own.
  19. they have probably caught on and done something like that. I can't imagine that neo-geo emulation was ALWAYS this hard.
  20. well it seems as if Neogamez has most of the newer games for neogeo in rage format. guess I was wrong about that whole "rage is dying out" thing. yippee:)
  21. yeah I figured. but no harm in askin. patiently I'll wait n' listen 2 those MIDIs u threw me :$$$:
  22. try using that move in ur avatar on them. LMAO. sry just had 2 say that. that's soo effing awesome anyways. I personally say that the M-Bisons on Gokutentu were very VERY hard (street fighter alpha three. dramatic battle where they were both against you and both had full super ALL the time) and yes, Johann is untouchable. Evoga has some SERIOUS issues w/ their boss programming
  23. thankyou force oh uh... another dumb question... does the sound work yet on CV4? if so how?
  24. just looking for a general discussion here, mebbe some leads. does anybody have a clue why all we have seen thus far is Raiden the original? how does fabtek have such close ties on this series? they are all phenomenal shooters, but it seems 2 me that more of the shoulda been MAMEd by this point. anybody know what the deal is?
  25. they don't log sound uhh... guys?... I'm smart... how do you get this to work? but seriously, I forget how 2 make SMC files... I sorta need a hand here Did the music files I posted download for you? If they didn't work you can download them and many others from here (I just remembered where I had downloaded them from ) oh no they worked my good man and it had most of the songs from the game in it. I did appreciate that and thanks much, but I still wanna rip the songs straight outta the game... cuz frankly the MIDI programmers on some of those songs completely slaughtered them lol. but yeah I found an SMC for contra three, saved it as a GBA and I loaded it up, so is that how u load games? save their SMCs w/ the PocketSNES? how do I make those SMC files? PS: Contra 3 didn't work obviously, not supported yet. I got the font and the background and that was that
