Capping would hardly make sense, that's practically a step backwards in everything that's been happening the last few years. Remember back when it was more or less only dialup and you paid for whatever hours a month..basically a cap if you figured the the maximum hours you had and the download speed..blah blah you should get the idea. Now people more or less are able to leave their connection on 24/7 and you can send/recieve faster than you could when online time was more limited. Hell, even cell phones are like that. When I had just moved out of my parents house at 18, my cell costs a buttload for only 400 minutes a month. Now, here atleast you can get unlimited calling with some carriers for roughly $40/month. Anyway, capping to get rid of piracy would be the easy and completely uncreative way of getting rid of piracy. But it wouldn't be a permanant fix..even at 50mb a day people will still pirate what they want. Dialup users probably would be fine still in their "illegal" habits..I know I would. In my opinion, in the world of everyone wanting more and more FASTER..capping won't happen. Especially with companies trying to make money now off downloaded media.

as i said, tried all keyboard ways of getting out of the game- ctrl alt del, alt enter..everything. i was thinking of editing the.ini, but it's all giberish..korean i'm guessing. tried looking around with a hex editor..but not finding anything cause i don't have alot of experience with that and what isn't in code is in korean *shrug*

yeah, that's about all i could think of for an easy way around the issue. ah well, i think i have a spare laptop somewhere

ok..playing pristontale lately, but it's a huge pain because the game can't be run windowed. asking around, i guess they made it fullscreen only to avoid people using hacks and so on. but i only want to window it so i can still chat with people who are not playing. anyone know how i could edit something to get around this fullscreen only stuff or atleast be able to minimize it? i've tried all the keyboard stuff i can think of- start key, alt+tab, ctrl+esc..and also tried putting -windowed at the end of the target for the shortcut even though i doubted that would work either. any ideas would be appreciated

Hey..need some ideas for some games me and my gf can play online together. So far we're going with Quake and Diablo games..but trying to think of something else. I'm clueless at the moment..i think she prefers something "cute" but doesn't have to be though. Anyways..taking suggestions

You shouldn´t be worried, you said they hacked the email right?, meybe when ur brother was at using a common pc to them, they managed to keep msm to remember the password and so that´how they hacked it, why haven´t thay hacked anything else yet? wouldn´t you do it if you have the knowledge?, also if they keep bothering just tape them or record any conversation so you can acuse them with proves, else, well, don´t tell anyone but... i know someone that for a few bucks...... just kidding Besides, if you are on dial up, doesn´t dial up change the ip every time you connect? how can they hack a changing ip? that´s you best weapon. Yeah, the ip is dynamic-so it definitely wouldn't be easy. I guess there is one good thing about having dialup right now . Lately things have calmed down, so my paranoia is settling a bit lol.

hrmmm..When I played Zero 1 I thought it rawked and the same with Zero 2 I think. Played both more than a few times through. So far with 3..i'm not getting the same feeling. The first 2 I played the first time through almost in one sitting because I liked it so much, but this one I've sat down and played it probably 3-4 times and haven't really gotten that far. Could be that I can't read japanese, but that didn't matter when I played the first one.. I like it, but I'm definitely hoping it gets better as I play further. New sprites would have been really nice or some fancy new z-saber animations atleast, but like what was said about previous games-I didn't expect any.

Thanks, I really appreciate all the replies. I did the security scans and whatnot and came out not too bad, but not perfect. After doing some reading I tried doing a netstat (if anyone is familiar with that). Kinda freaked out because I have about a dozen ports listening it seems..I'm not too good with what it all actually means because I've become such a slacker when it comes to computers, but I definitely don't like what I see..LOL. Anyway, thanks again for everyone's suggestions.

Cool, I'll have to check those out. Right now for firewall software I'm using Blackice, and for anti-virus I'm stuck with Antivir personal edition till I can get out and get something better.

OK, my little brother just had a baby but him and the girl are not together now. Of course he plans on doing everything he can to support his daughter but the mother is one crazy girl and has been bugging the crap out of me and my parents. The biggest problem is her dad and some other guy constantly threatening to "hack" mine and my parent's computers. I'm on a dialup and running anti-virus and firewall programs all the time, so I don't think there's much that could happen, but is there anyother precautions I could be taking? It's getting really annoying worrying about my computer anytime I'm sleeping and my brother happens to get online. I don't know how capable these guys are, all they've managed to do that I know of so far is hack my brother's email and instant messenger accounts. I do get port-scanned atleast once a week lately, sometimes more. But as far as I know, nothing is getting through.

LOL, I also remember this kid I was friends with back then that would actually talk to the NES very quietly so you couldn't hear what he was saying...then slam the game in there as hard as he could. Surprisingly it worked most the time

Me and my buddy back home were talking on the phone and were remembering back when everyone had they're own little trick to get an NES game to work. Ahhh..the memories...kids these days just can't appreciate what lengths you sometimes had to go to to just play some Tetris back in the day Pfft! Warranties? Naaah..we just got creative...I always did the blow over the game once and then don't quite put it in all the way so you almost had to force it down inside, then hit power. My friend's was the one where you wedged another game in ontop of the one you wanted to play. Anyway, anyone else remember any nifty tricks from back then to get a game to work? I'm sure there's some I've not heard of yet.
