Gryph Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Metal Slug 3 should already be in Kawaks, you don't need to add that to ASR.DAT.
Agozer Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I was havin the same problem and that's why I eventually ditched Kawaks. I dunno, maybe you have better luck than I did if you try hard enough. I edited the Asr.dat so it matched *exatcly* with my romsets, but i came up empty handed. I've gone through that Ars.dat probably ~10 times with a fine-tooth comb, but I still can't find any faults within it.
PLasticSlug Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 (edited) it wouldnt open for me, i put in an old dat that i found here in the forums and I read the game and played it but it would not play sound.? PLasticSlug Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 thankyou to all of you for your help.
PLasticSlug Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 ill look it up as well but whats the deal with decripted vs non decpripted (sp) roms in the set?
ugenn Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 *offtopic* I think the emus should start implementing a "fallback" driver that allow any ROM (well, for neogeo roms anyway) to be loaded, sort of like how NRX works. This will partly eliminate all the "can't load rom blah blah" BS.

Morals, my @ss. What a pile of crock. I might add something like this to gngeo if I can find the time.

PLasticSlug Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 (edited) ok spent a hell of a long time getting about 95% of my neo games to working in kawaks and all it is good. Now i wanted to see my cross compatibility with Nebula and not suprisingly only 15 of 40+ games work. So for the hell of it i copied my info from my.asr file from kawaks and pasted it into the Nebula NEOGEO file. Upon doing this nebula wont even attempt to audit the games, why would this be?if there are multiple or duplicate dat files in the NEOGEO file does does it freak out or somthing? Gryph Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 When you try to scan for games in Nebula after doing that does it just quit? That happened to me and the problem was the Matrimelee dat. After getting rid of it it worked fine.

Gryph Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Yeah, the dat stuff for Matrimelee inside Neogeo.dat. I have no idea why that one made the entire thing not work...
