Apparently it is time again for me to get my yearly allergies from hell. I woke up this morning feeling like shit. My nose is all plugged up and runny and I feel flu-ish which always happens (OR IS IT SWINE FLU?!?!). My eyes are starting to get itchy, I'm going to have no energy, blah, I am not looking forward to this.

this usually happens to me around this time, too

Not even caused by a transition from summer to autumn, it just happens.

There was a time in my life when I had fairly bad allergies every year. The funny thing is that all of them just disappeared some years ago, and haven't come back since.

Yeah I've been getting headaches just about everyday for the past week. In Florida it's really really bad when there is a seasonal transition. The humidity is all out of whack every other day it's hard for a person to get adjusted. Thankfully, the humidity has been really low the past couple days. It's just blazing hot still but a little drier. I can't wait to winter...hopefully we'll have a longer one instead of a couple weeks.

With the coolness of iceland agozer allergies might not be as bad as warmer countries.

Not really Iceland, but I suppose the overall yearly temperatures have something to do with it, and I've probably boosted my immunity as well.

nah my allergies are so bad they are immune to all medication. I have tried them all. I can barely keep my eyes open right now.

The good ol' boiling water or really hot shower works for me sometimes. Gets my nose cleared up and makes me feel fresh. If your eyes are irritated, just keep 'em wet with visine or something.

I used to be in that situation, long ago. Couldn't keep my eyes open, and nose was just a snot factory. Went to the doctor, had tests done, and they found I was allergic to everything except cat hair.

Life was kinda unlivable, so I came up with my own solution... it took a number of years to work, but now those problems are gone forever.

How does it work... well, snot accumulates in the back of the nose, under the eyes, which is why they are both affected. The stuff is a breeding ground for germs, viruses, allergies, you name it.

So, you must get rid of it asap. In my case I went to the nearest handbasin and blew it out (it goes everywhere). You just have to keep doing that as needed until finally things calm down.

Number one rule: NEVER SNIFF !! It just makes things worse, obviously. The stuff has to be out, not in.

I'm pretty thankful I don't have allergy issues. being a walking snotbag for 2 weeks every few months doesn't sound to fun.
