Wizard Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 technically its not e3 news so it deserves its own thread. From Famitsu: Latest Famitsu shows Dead Rising for Wii. Interview snippets: - RE4 Wii sold well so Capcom is porting DR- As much as possible Capcom will match the 360 look.- Is taking into mind casual gamers' needs- Playable w/ Wiimote and nunchuck. There are waggle atacks similar to RE4 Wii. Wow, didn't see this coming a mile away.
L.S.D Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Is the graphic even possible? Man, we can expect some Wii waggling just to get the zombie bashing.
OverlordMondo Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 It seems a bit too late in the game for this. What do you mean?
Devia Eleven Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 It seems a bit too late in the game for this. What do you mean? This game is soon to be 2 years old....ewww That basically, and with hundreds of zombies on screen at one time, there's no question that the Wii has a large possibility of consistent lag.

Not doing so sounds kind of unlikely.
OverlordMondo Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I don't see the problem with a game being two years old. People seemed ecstatic when they heard they were releasing Chrono Trigger on the DS, and that game is 10+ years old. And bad. I can understand a concern that porting something from the 360 to the Wii might not work perfectly, but I'll wait and see how they do.
Lucandrake Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Well Chrono Trigger was a classic, and lives in the heart of many. While Dead Rising was a "Buy when 360 had no other game" game, average, a schnup, not a bad game, but you buy it after it hits bargain bin/greatist hits.
Devia Eleven Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 The joy of the game mostly arises from having many zombies on screen and doing some major ass kicking in various ways, if they lower the zombie count to make up for the Wii's poo poo hardware, then some of the joy will be lost from the original port.

Probably texture levels and such.
Wizard Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 It's very possible to port it and I'll tell you how; Add an overall draw distance.Lower world overall poly count.Lower the textures. The basic "Optimize for Nintendo" hardware. Other than Nintendo, Capcom actually knows how to utilize each console's strengths from their past achievement with DMC4.
basilbr Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 It was a game I hoped for on Wii, I am only too happy to see it being ported now. People talk about the number of zombies on screen in the 360 version, but if the PS2 can do the Mardi Gras stage from Hitman Blood Money, I think the Wii will be able to cope with the zombies.
OverlordMondo Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Well, I finally got around to playing it on the 360 this morning, and I have to say that I think this game is amazing. I really want to sit down with it for a good long while and play through it all the different ways I can. Depending on the ETA for the port, I might wait, see how it does on the Wii, and then play it there.
basilbr Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 from the translation 1up did of the famitsu article, sounds like they're going for a RE4 over the shoulder perspective for the game, and that unfortunately the photography element has been ditched
