fumanchu Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The lastcouple of weeks ive been messing about with this emu,for anyone who hasnt tried it i suggest you give it a go as there are some excellent arcade conversions and shooters on this platform.the sharpx68000 is a japanese computer from about 1987 and had games made for it right up to 1996.the inside of the computer is basically the same as the cps1 board that capcom used for games like strider,ghoulsnghosts,streetfighter2...ive tested ghoulsnghosts, strider and a few more of the capcom games and their pretty much faithful to their arcade counterparts, especially final fight.some highlightscastlevania(a port of the original nes game but with 16-bit graphics)nemesis90(a port of the msx game, again with 16-bit graphics, was never releaded in the arcade and was only available on this system)final fight(pretty much arcade perfect)1941(a great port of the cps1 shooter) so anyone else tried this emu?if so what games do you play?
Hawq Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Streetfighter 2, Super Streetfighter 2 & Final Fight are great on it, FF especially as it dumps on the Amiga version of the game from a great height, tohugh lets face it the Amiga version always felt like a half finished alpha test that got put on sale more than a conversion of a good Capcom game
Tynvar Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I think Castlevania is very difficult on it. Way more than the NES version.
fumanchu Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 Final fight feels like an arcade perfect conversion to me,ive been playing the x68000 version more than the arcade version lately.i never owned an amiga myself,i just had the c64 then moved onto the master system after that.i suppose i could try xports amiga emu. Question.has anyone got "cho ren sha" to work.its a shooter that came out in 1996 for the x68000 and it looks bloody amazing.i cant get the game to work, has anyone had any luck with it? edit/castlevania is really diificult, even more so than draculax on the pcenginecd.
Rick_Son Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Speaking of which, I also like this emu too and especially Thunder Force 2 on here as well but has anyone ever got Street Fighter 2 to work on this emu?
fumanchu Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 havent tried it,you do have the newest version of this emu?i think its v4.
gavin19 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 If you want the best version of Final Fight it's the SegaCD version. Arcade perfect conversion with CD quality soundtrack!
fumanchu Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 or just play the arcade version gav. have you tried the x68000 version gav, cause ive been playing it a lot and its an acurate version of the arcaade game, well i think anyway.they both share tha same arcade hardware.
Rick_Son Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) I Have v4 and this ver. of Final Fight is up there with the Sega CD Ver. Any word on getting street fighter to work and Super Street Fighter 2 is pretty hard to find.... Edited June 1, 2008 by Rick_Son
fumanchu Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 just been trying out a shooter called chorensha, man is it good.this game looks as good as any sega saturn blaster.gonna be trying more shooters at the weekend, there are loads for this system.
MasterPhW Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Hmm... you got me interested... are there any good emus for windows out?
gavin19 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 (edited) I think I have every shmup for the x68000 plus all the Capcom ports, basically all the best games. I have never played them though. I think I may just fire up X68000X right now Hmm... you got me interested... are there any good emus for windows out? http://www.zophar.net/x68000.html Personally I like Winx68k High Speed 0.95 found here. You may need to poke about here for the files to get it to boot. Edited June 3, 2008 by gavin19
fumanchu Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 you will like chrorensha gav.also you said the segacd version of final fight is better well you were right.i fired it up today and you do get a sharper picture and the music is better than the x68000 version and dare i say it better than the arcade version.

I've had the Windows version of ChoRenSha for ages, didn't realise it begun on the x86000. Yeah, Final Fight CD is better than the original. Exact same (maybe better) gfx, but with uprated CD sound.
