Alpha Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Congratulation's everybody and a big thanks to all diggers who dugg our story up to the main page and in the TOP 10 under gaming news for today. Our server was down for a few hours, but a big thanks goes out to Sdcofer and Miskie who kept the server alive and hanging through these tough seas. The Digg Effect is definitely hard to withstand, but I think we're holding up quite well so far. Check out the story: http://digg.com/nintendo/Nintendo_Wii_Virt..._and_HTML_files EDIT: Wow, we're now in the TOP 10 on digg.com front page. Thank you once again to all who dugg. Keep on digging!
L.S.D Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 No wonder it is so slow to come into 1emu today EDIT: HOLY! Already 14K++ people reading the news? Not bad!
basilbr Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I am a little curious about the VC emulators, especially the N64 one, so this is great
Tynvar Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Why is it that the rom shows up on emus as a bad checksum?
Agozer Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Why is it that the rom shows up on emus as a bad checksum?Maybe Nintendo has made some adjustments to the ROM, and the new CRC values don't match the emulator's internal checks. Maybe.
Tynvar Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) Besides the games imagine that we could make our own channels with home brew apps to play videos in different codecs, music, keep track of many things on the net like blogs and so on and all without mod chips. it would be rocking. Also I'm sure Nintendo expected this. But to be truthful how many people really have the knowledge or time to transfer the games, make the hack for their wii, and so on. To many US consumers 5 bucks is worth not having to do it. I think Nintendo expects that laziness will keep the VC going Hacking hasn't killed the psp at all, its more like the other way around, psp sales have been well since people knew what they could do with it. That would be worth all the trouble, Making my own channels on the wii would be the best
Tynvar Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I want to see the HTML source. You can dl one of those files on known sites and use a tool to extract. At the guy who published the videos site.
iq_132 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Why is it that the rom shows up on emus as a bad checksum? There are two copies of the ROM in the archive. One has ~256kb difference, the other matches the European dump 100%. I want to see the HTML source. You can dl one of those files on known sites and use a tool to extract. At the guy who published the videos site. Or you can... Here's the program for extracting all of the stuff from the VC files.http://neosource.1emu.net/forums/index.php?topic=919.msg7582
Tynvar Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I guess now the thing is how to put that all back together with your Wii id?
BlackKnight Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Some news; -Bunch of games now decrypted / released and usable-Most games should be available in the next few days-Any game you install on your Wii (even if the installation fails) can then be downloaded off the VC Channel for free. It marks the games as 'already downloaded' Download the installer and go crazy;http://wii.waninkoko.info/

BlackKnight Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 That's what I've linked up. That's all you need to install these pirate VC games.
Alpha Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 That's what I've linked up. That's all you need to install these pirate VC games.Hmm... TehSkeen says something different: As the release states, you have to already have a packed WAD file- and as of now, no WAD packer exists. However, once one is released, this app will be of great use. Homebrew applications will start being packaged as much simpler WAD files that each have their own channel. A more questionable use of the packer/installer package could be to install shared Virtual Console games.http://tehskeen.com/modules.php?name=News&...p;threadid=7059
BlackKnight Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 There's something I'd link to now but would be decidedly against the rules. We need to have a forum for this kind of stuff, limited to Ultra Members or something.
