Xtreme2damax Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 Yea dude it's not just cinder I get the same blank page. I'll look into it a bit, by any chance would your ISP's happen to block any websites? Try seeing if it can be accessed through a proxy. It should load fine, since it does for me and others. I just want to make sure the problem isn't on my websites end. I had someone else on another forum say the same thing a while ago, I thought they were joking because no one else was having a problem. Thanks for reporting it, I'll see if I can figure out what is wrong. @Gamecop, I chose the username "Xtreme2damax" back in 2005 when I first signed up at emuforums because I originally thought the name was original only the find out the alias had already been used on other websites. At least I am the only one who has used the alias at more overall websites/forums than the other person who was also using this alias.
Robert Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 White page here also. But if I jump from the portal directly to a topic, it works. In fact, all pages work - except for the forum index. The cut-down version of the index works thoughhttp://www.xtemu.com/forum/archive/index.php In case you're interested, here the source of the index page:<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></HEAD> <BODY></BODY></HTML>As you can see, not much there.
Xtreme2damax Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 I upgraded to the latest release for the forum software I am using, check and see if you are still having a problem.
ken_cinder Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Working, and I see 0 cause for "Oh noes! Illegal Stuffs!" But you might want to set some permissions on your downloads section (I too run PHPBB3) as guests can download. Should be an incentive to sign up, seeing as you're offering up SVN compiles of Dolphin.
Xtreme2damax Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Yeah I set it up so guests could download. I wanted to give unrestricted access to things like downloads and give guests the option to register, I didn't want to force registration on anyone. I am trying to find members within the emulation communities who are interested in posting news and moderating specific sections, not much luck so far although I haven't asked many people.
Xtreme2damax Posted August 25, 2008 Author Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) A question for those who were getting a white page on my index: Would you happen to be using the Opera browser? I haven't had no issues under Firefox or Internet Explorer, but I just tried to load my index under opera and got the dreaded blank white page. Any feedback or input on this is very valuable and appreciated. I narrowed it down a bit, seems to be occurring for anyone who isn't registered or logged in. Edited August 25, 2008 by Xtreme2damax
Xtreme2damax Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 I apologize for yet another post, I just wanted to mention that the issue with the blank white page on the index should be solved now. Apparently it was the fault of a bad plugin which has now been disabled. I would appreciate for anyone to report if they are still experiencing this issue.
ken_cinder Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Nope, still works here. Firefox 2.0.0.16. Was fine after you updated PHPBB.
Xtreme2damax Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 We have just made the conversion from Mybb 1.4.x to IPB 2.3.6. I am working on getting the settings restored and proper permissions set. All users who are registered have been sent an email informing them they'll have to reset their password in order to be able to successfully login. Also during the conversion I wasn't able to keep avatar uploads in tact nor poll votes. If anyone is registered there, you'll need to re-upload your avatar.
