BlackKnight Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Yeh- they dont want to cut the price on the current PSP.. no way they can move onto the next generation so quickly. Unless theyre morons.
JKKDARK Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) then the DS 2 will kick PSP 2 ass Edited October 11, 2006 by JKKDARK
Private Biscuit Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 There is a DS2? She refers to DS Lite I think.
Wizard Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Uh nope. DSlite is called DSlite. DS2 is... air.
BlackKnight Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Logical progression- DS2 = air = nothing = worthless So, inconclusion, buy a PSP, not a DS. Or a DS2. Time and again I wonder how a handheld that can play a very decent percentage of all the games ever made consistently finds itself second place after the gimmicky and derivative DS.

Time and again I wonder how a handheld that can play a very decent percentage of all the games ever made consistently finds itself second place after the gimmicky and derivative DS.It is because of the general impression that:DS = original, creative gamesPSP = port of console games People's expectation is PSP games should be just like the console conunterparts. So when they start to get craps that was different from the console, they make noise, saying the games are not good and such and saying PSP is worthless. What they never get is PSP is NOT a PS2 on the go! It is not supposed to emulate a PS2 completely. Some companies recognised that and they give us good game, with engine built up from zero (GTA, Tekken,Lumines or any latest Capcom games) unlike some developers who just port their games to PSP and expect it to work (EA games, Splinter Cell, POP, King Kong). As for DS, no qualms. I do think their games are original but they also have lots of craps. Just like GB where we will find 1 or two good games out of the 1000 worthless games.
Wizard Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Well, GTA still uses Renderware, just more scaled back for the PSP to handle. The GB selection also mirrors the PS2 selection. Tons of crap games, but a nice handful of sweet and excellent titles. Hell, have you seen Oblivion PSP? It's like Hexen !
L.S.D Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Hell, have you seen Oblivion PSP? It's like Hexen !Which I will avoid like plague. The PC version did not interest me whatsoever, so does the PSP version.
Shibathedog Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 after i buy some computer upgrades i think im gonna get a PSP just to get Lumines, and that new game from Q Entertainment, forget what its called but it looks cool as hell if i get the 200 dollar one it just comes with a PSP and Charger right? and i have to go buy some poop memory card? I dont even think ill use homebrew too much because emulation is better on the PC, and i would have to buy some massive ass memory card to watch any decent video, and i dont crap money

Isnt that worth the trade off?
L.S.D Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I am not into novelty so the homebrew and emulation scene on PSP did not interest me much EXCEPT the Neogeo emulation
