Gryph Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Yeah, it's up to the developers to take advantage of the controller. Without their support it will fail (just like any system, even one with a normal controller).
Alpha Posted September 16, 2005 Author Posted September 16, 2005 Here's a teaser video for all you folks..http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/651/651334/vids_1.html Credits: Khaoz from #1emu @ EFNET
Aztec Soldier Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I think that Zelda one you posted was better.
-SyN- Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Yeah the zelda one is better, and as far as the controller, I want one! i hope ot universal seriously as gamecop said, wtf they was thinking? Nintendo has truely shot off.
Aztec Soldier Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 L00ks stupid, hope it plays g00d though. It be c00l if they come up with those arcade shooter games.
Wizard Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 As I said in the other thread. It's all about software now. I for one would love to clash swords.
Agozer Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 If that is indeed the real controllers, it looks badass. If you ask me, I love the design. Sure, it most likely takes a bit of getting used to, but Nintendo sure cashed in the promises about the controller being 'revolutionary'. Two thumbs up for the big N.
solidius23 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 hmmmmmmm after seeing that video it's growing on me in a little weird way. will just wait and see to give final judgement.
Lucandrake Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 If the sword duel games are anything like the ones in the big arcades down here in miami(were you move left and suddenly your character in the screen swings right) then give me a new controller, but if it works as smoothly as I imagine it should (it's nintendo come on) then hell yea I would love the concept. Maybe you can add more then just a joystick to the back
Wizard Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Various folk, including IGN, say that Metroid Prime 2 on it really rocked, and seemed very comfortable. Imagining it, playing an MP game with that could work, and tiring.
Gryph Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 This controller could be as good as mouse and keyboard for FPS games. Also, here is an interview with Nintendo VP of Marketing, Perrin Kaplan.http://www.revo-europe.com/news.php?nid=8244 I expect the controller to have a more ergonomic shape at the bottom so it's more comfortable to hold for long gaming sittings.
Lucandrake Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Im considering buying a Revolution now.... I'm just imagining how fun most of the games on that will be on that, and online >.<!!!
Wizard Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 hrm. Joystiq linked the the Big N's keynote, all translated for all to see here: http://www.irwebcasting.com/050916/03/ff36...in/index_hi.htm
