Gryph Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Benedict XVI, good name. I know that he was one of the top choices. He's pretty old so I don't think he's going to last very long.
PLasticSlug Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I wasa really hoping for a black pope, i dont know why... maybe next year he'll win...
Agozer Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Benedictus XVI is also very old-fashioned, or so I heard. Well, at least the catholic crurch has a ne wleader after all. Took the conclave(sp?) three rounds to reach an agreement.
Dooz Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 From what I've been told, he was part of the Hitler Youth program and was a guard at a concentration camp.
Sturmvogel Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Hmmm...so the hard liner favorite who was generally written off acutally won. Well, just another meaningless day in this crazy world we live in.. Well..I heard a story on the news this morning...(a bit of topic but..). Apparently a family pitbull ripped the face of the families six month old baby off....kinda sad.
Sturmvogel Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Why is the new Pope wearing a black cloak and his face looking all twisted!!
Agozer Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Why is the new Pope wearing a black cloak and his face looking all twisted!! That's because of the PR machinery. The pope is an epitome of power; what better way to convey that power.
Prican25 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 well i can uderstand that the man was the closest with john paul but they should've chossen someone a lot more younger cuz this guy is 78 and paul died at 85 john paul was chossen on october of 1978 so at least he got to be pope for 27 years beginning at the age of 58. funny enough, i was born on october in 1978 heh

I remember hearing that on CNN.
