You may even want to try multiple spyware programs...I have 3 on my computer, along with AOL's spyzapper, and I ran them all in succession one day when I was experiencing problems even connecting with AOL, and each one picked up different items that the others had missed.

I had major connection problems when i got this new comp of mine and it had integrated Ethernet ports. The thing would connect to the internet and all other services, but as soon as something was sownloading, the speeds dropped to like 0.5kB/s.

Strangely enough, the problem fixed itself.

Why not just get one of your school's tech people over there!?? If you're having trouble with the network or whatever, they're the one's to fix it.

Bubba, go to setup before you sighn on AIM and go to sighn on sighn off. Make sure it says you connect through modem, if its on modem, switch the settings to lan, then clock on the button called connection for proxy's. Try screwing around with other settings also, i don't think there is anything to change the ports in the program, unless you do it with some firewalls

I know this is a little late, but why not use xp's rollback feature to go back to when the thing was working. then do the spyware and virus scans from thier. could save from a format. and if it doesn't work then format.

Rollback screwed my registry big time. It's evil. I haven't formatted myself yet, but the OS is a bit crippled now.
