Firefox updates

not sure if it's new but did u upadte ur firefox to 1.02? anyway, hop to get rid or those damn pop-ups

I haven't upgraded yet, although I have downloaded the package.

do i have to uninstall 1.01 first? any new changes?

I don't think you have to uninstall the previous version. At least I don't when upgrading. If its required, the intstallation wizard would prompt you to do that before proceeding.

It doesn't really matter if you uninstall the older version first, since all your settings and other stuff gets saved.

cuz i remembered when i upgraded for ver. 1 to 1.01, both versions shows up in the add/remove programs in da control panel..

I did that, actually, I turned it on in the options

 

barely did all this earlier and it worked perfectly....downloaded and installed the updates smoothly

it did it again i got 1.01 and 1.02 on the list...i hate when it forces me to make a new profile... then I would have to copy/paste all my extensions and bookmarks...

It should save all your settings, bookmarks, extensions etc. Even if you uninstall a previous version first then reinstall the update. That's how its worked for me so far.

 

Unless you choose a different folder to intall in from the previous version, as Ryuken mentiioned.

Yeah actually i installed in the same folder...oh well, i guess ill do dat the next time..

The only problem I hate with FireFox is the upgrade system was never properly made from the 0.x series to the 1.x series. I still have Mozilla FireFox 0.8 in my Add/Remove Programs list and I can't remove it without seing an error. I know others have the same problem since it happened on my other computer as well.
