NeoMaster Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 It only seemed like yesterday where the GBA was a robust system with tons of great quality games being created for it and every month would be a satisfying game for me to play. Now it seems with the release of the DS and imminent coming of PSP, the GBA/SP is running dry of software. I've played the Zelda's, Mario's, Pokemon's, Harvest Moon and such but what's left? The most recent game I've enjoyed is Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories that I've still not completed. But what's left after that? The only thing I can think of right now is Mario Party Advance...dear god please tell me you can do better GBA!
Alpha Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I highly doubt the GBA will last any longer. Just like any new successor as the GameBoy and the GameBoy Advance. The Gameboy basically died with only 1-10 games to release during the advance era and were all crappy games. It's time to look forward which is the DS. And quite honestly, I'd start looking at the PSP since the DS has no good games out right now. Unless you want to be playing Mario DS all the time, forget the DS as well until the summer.
L.S.D Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Quite true. But you can always try Megaman Zero series. They are really good

Ghosty Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 It Will Be Dead With The Younger Kids, But For Us Retro Lovers, Well I Dunno, I'll Still Be Playing "KOF EX2: Howling Blood" Til I'm 80!
montpics Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Too much GBA games to be bothered so I rather think GBA will not be ended its life in the next 2 years.
Agozer Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Nintendo put out the DS too early. There are still plenty of GBA games to be played, so it's not dead yet. Sure, the DS has more coverage now....
NeoMaster Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 Honestly, I think the GBA release list is still looking better than the DS'. PSP will probably smoke DS and then Nintendo can start putting back their effort on the GBA which has a great install base already.

To almost everyone knows; Backward compatability = TEH WIN!
iq_132 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 GBA games will still be released for a while, but that's no biggie for a DS owner (yay for backwards compatibility )As for the PSP, I'm not sure how I feel about yet... I might end up owning one

bubbawmu2 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 i think the DS will have a fighting chance in the spring with the arrival of the PSP. Sony has a reputation of creating hardware that doesnt last when it takes punishment, so enless they change that, sony is going to have problems. and there are all the classic games that they can release for the ds that are favorites of all of ours. Golden Eye, Mario 64 (which im hooked on playing right now) as well as Animal Crossing. So there is going to be a battle with the hand-helds between sony and nintendo, just like there has been with the other systems that they have put out.
Wizard Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 One of the biggest complinates that hasn't been fixed yet (and they are VERY VERY aware of the problem and they even said they've done it on purpose) is the square button, it litterly is off the stem button of where it is. They've said players will need to adapt to it. Sheit if the square button is fukked, and they know about it, wouldn't you do something if this was your product?
NeoMaster Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 I had a dreamcast controller that had a messed up button like the psp...and it was god awful playing kof2002 on it. I was so sad I paid 30 bucks for it.
