For the last time. DSEmu does not run any Nintendo DS roms, let alone commercial GBA roms.

Just out of curiosity, what are emulators really for? They're obviously not for playing commercial games but what are they for? I mean, shouldn't homebrew developers have the console they're actually developing for?

Because people wanted to experience the retro-nostalgic feeling again by playing a game they liked way back when... on the PC.

The DS isn't exactly retro nostalgic, mind you.

I was talking about the basic idea of emulation, not the emulation of all the newer systems. Sorry if I came off wrong.

Whats quicker, hitting load, or flashing a cart.

Also, Emulators have debug output, and lots of other nice options.

Nah, I apologise for not realising that sarcasm doesn't always travel online. Do remember that I'm not quite the most sarcastic person alive, but close.

Sure, emulators in general do have such things. Of course, SOME don't. Not mentioning my own name or anything.

(Does this count as straying off the topic of the thread, btw?)

You should see the way I code to see why emulators are handy.

I make 1 line changes, recompile, run.

Often 10 times an hour. Flashing would be a *biatch*.

Ah, got it. Forgot about that whole loading thing.

Although, honestly I've never even seen or held a flash cart in my life much less actually use one.

Ten lines an hour! Dude, that's good going.

Ok this is an odd one. In both GBA and DS opening if youre opening a game after already opening another one if part of the open window isnt in the DSemu window itll just keep asking you to open a game over and over again until you move part of it over DSemu's main window x_X.

Ive tested it with most of the Demo roms in the post you have lol (man ive edited my post like 10 times).

If i was being a little hard on the explination ill give an example in steps.

1. Open any DS/GBA rom (notice how to open box is over the emulator)

2. Goto File/Open GBA/DS

3. Move the open box COMPLETLY off the DSemu window

4. Try to open any GBA/DS rom

Once you do that youll get what i mean.
