kaioshade Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Hacking a snes controller to parallel is very easy. And if you dont want to solder, you can always get crimp style connectors instead of solder connectors.
ugenn Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Are the steps messy to convert an snes to a parallel port connection? Also does doing this function in mame? Just doing these converstions sound complicating. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not too messy. As long as you don't have butter fingers. Soldering isn't even necessary. You can just twist the wires together and use duct tape to hold them together. It will function on any Windows program as long as you have the appropriate drivers. For linux, they are part of the linux kernel tree (gamecon). For windows, I'm not too sure where to get them. Try googling.
Weirdy Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 K`dash and Garageink have successfully been able to USB their xbox controllers
ken_dong Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 (edited) Hi guys, my gamepad is fine imo, but it has a problem: 3 buttons are 'mirrored', for example I got L and R buttons as buttons AND triggers, dunno if I've explained well how it is. Is there a solution for that? I'd like to use ALL the buttons, Tnx in advance ^^ Edited November 3, 2004 by ken_dong
Ghosty Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Can You Get Us A Picture Of The Pad, Cuz I'm Guessign You Have Switches On It Like Mine. Or Can You Go Into MAJOR Detail?
ken_dong Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Sure ^^. http://i5.ebayimg.com/02/i/02/91/4a/3e_1_b.JPG Well, the pad has got A TOTAL OF nine buttons, but I can use only six buttons, because there are two 'L & R buttons' sets, and the reset button is L+R, wtf?! I've tested these things on the windows control panel. Doesn't it work properly? Wrong drivers? Could the gamepad be modified? Tnx ^^
valovedder Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Check out Lik Sang they have a number of USB converters for neraly all pads. They are a great supplier and pretty reasonable.

shin_nihon_kikaku Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 My favourite is the 3 in 1 PC joybox (USB) with an official dreamcast arcade stick connected. Awesome. Depends what type of games you play primarily though...
