Two9A Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 New version still crashes. Thanks for posting something I see hundreds of times a day. But I haven't a clue why it crashes now; could you post the log.txt file? That /might/ help.
Cominus Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 So will this thing be running %100 percent eventually?
Gryph Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Eventually yes...what kind of question is that?
saiyanfire Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 So will this thing be running %100 percent eventually?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think you have been here long enough to answer that question yourself but:A) we dont knowB)The programmers may abandon the emulatorC) It doesnt matter if its 100%, 99% is good enough for me XD.
James Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 (edited) New version still crashes. Thanks for posting something I see hundreds of times a day. But I haven't a clue why it crashes now; could you post the log.txt file? That /might/ help.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>it cannot handle to many folders to link to the rom For example : C:\Documents and Settings\James\Desktop\dsemu-0.0.1c\dsemu-0.0.1c if its like this it will crash If it is like this : C:\dsemu-0.0.1c.. it loads the rom fine. Edited December 11, 2004 by James
Mitsuko Aninikkou Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Yep, if the rom is in the fourth or higher subdirectory (X:\...\...\...\...\ and deeper, which harddrive doesn't matter) DSEmu 0.0.1c will crash
Dooz Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Well, I put DSEmu into C:\dsemu\, and although it showed a black screen, it still crashes.
Alpha Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Well, I put DSEmu into C:\dsemu\, and although it showed a black screen, it still crashes. When the program crashes.. try to click the link in the box for more information whhere it says "To see what the data error report contains, click here". And copy down the details of the errors here.
StevenV Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 i am only curious on the current status of the emu.. the DS been out for a week at least now and yet I heard nothign about a working Emu or anything
Gryph Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 i am only curious on the current status of the emu.. the DS been out for a week at least now and yet I heard nothign about a working Emu or anything<{POST_SNAPBACK}>There is no emulator for the DS and there won't be one for a long time since they are tough to program. Emulators don't magically come out once the actual hardware is out, the programmers need to understand how the hardware works. Be patient, there won't be one for a while. Currently this emulator doesn't do much since its very new.

Khaki Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Hi, I just downloaded the emulator, the ARM code looks very... efficient Anyway, it crashes everytime I try to step into the current game. The call stack is: > gba.dll!ARM7opUNL() Line 417 C gba.dll!ARM7exec() Line 109 C gba.dll!emuStep() Line 188 + 0x5 C dsemu.exe!WinProc(HWND__ * hWnd=0x000f0526, unsigned int msg=273, unsigned int wParam=1104, long lParam=0) Line 335 C and it crashes with a 0xC0000096: Privileged instruction. exception, it seems to come from a bad op.op().

I know the emu or a ds emu to be specific won't be out for some time because the ds is more complicated even more so then any of the other handheld systems.Honestly. if one never came out I wouldn't have a cow about it
kn2usser Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 The new version is able to run most of the gba test files that are included. Some of them causes a crash but at least I am able to get dsemu to run some of them. Keep up the good work.
