  1. I typically stick to bitmetv, but I do have an HD cable box with Cinemax in HD as well as some others, so it can be a toss up at times.
  2. It's good to see that history didn't repeat itself. Beta was the technologically superior format and wound up losing the battle to VHS. With twice the storage capacity, it only made sense (especially in the case of HD) that Bu Ray would win. For anyone that hasn't had a chance to see one, I'll tell you from personal experience there's nothing like it. I recently got a copy of Con Air on Blu Ray, and it looks amazing.
  3. I knew sooner or later it would catch on.
  4. Most banks these days will also require 2 forms of ID. I understand the worry of identity theft, but I just don't see how a credit card proves in any way that you are who you say you are.
  5. When I write a page, I avoid flash. HTML and a good CSS template make a very fine substitute, and usually result in much faster loading pages.
  6. On behalf of myself and my community, thanks for the chance to become part of your great network. You are our first affiliate, and I must say, it couldn't be a better one. Glad to be associated and affiliated.
  7. Widescreen goodness. The wallpaper is just a pic of the Shinjuku District of Tokyo at night.
  8. I know it's a resource hog, but I've got memory and CPU to spare, so I stay with Azureus. Even when transfer rates are limited, it seems uTorrent eats alot more than it should.
  9. This happening on a site that likes to poke fun at other sites for slight mistakes makes it funnier than it would otherwise be. It's nice to see other places getting a chance to laugh at them for a change.
  10. Damn shame. You're one of the more friendlier members here and certainly one of my favs. I hope you won't have to be gone for too long....
  11. OK, some random pics around London. These are the last bit of new ones I have left by the way. Man I can't wait to go back for good. This last one is one of my favorites. There's a famous painting that was done when the Beatles came to Plymouth and were on Plymouth Hoe, as seen in this pic: Well, we were right near there in this pic :
  12. Indeed it is. As a drummer, it comes more natural for me to just hit something in time with a rhythm, rather than strum in time while holding buttons.
  13. When we set a date and decide to take the plunge, anyone up for it can feel free to crash the ceremony.
  14. Christmas and new years with my baby in England. Now to just get back there. And here's some of me with refraction. And finally, a pic of me at the Mayflower Steps in Plymouth and in Plymouth City Centre.
  15. Yeah, that was taken just today. The tree never comes down till after the new year. Thanks dude. She's everything and more than I could have hoped for. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier. It just really seems like we were made for each other. It's how I know I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
  16. I promised I would, so here's a pic of me and my lovely lady in the UK.
  17. Heh, nice. I used to live in Mountain View (just outside of Hilo) on the Big Island. It's where my second daughter was born and I've got some good memories of the place.
  18. Thanks guys, I'm really hoping on this one, and knowing there's friends that back me on it helps. Now that it's really happening and so close, I have to say I'm really stoked over the idea and I can't wait to meet this amazing lady who manages to make me feel alive again.
  19. Well, I've got a bit of a wild holiday planned. As some know (but most don't), I'll be heading to Plymouth, UK on Christmas Eve on an overnight flight and landing in London at roughly 10 AM Christmas morning. I have been talking to PCSX2 developer Refraction's sister now for just a little over 2 months and we've decided to meet over the holiday. The original plan called for her to come to New York to meet me, but it made more sense in the end for me to just head over there. If all works out as I'm hoping it will, she will be coming here during Easter break to meet my family and I'll be returning again to the UK in June on a permanent move. I know it can be a bit hard to understand what we have going on, but I've been married, have had a few serious relationships, and I've just never had the kind of connection I have with her. She just gets me (and not many people do), so it's time to throw caution to the wind and go. Anyone interested in more of the details can check out a thread we have going on at General Emulation where she's actually a registered member (and of course I've since made her an admin since it's only the right thing to do with your lady afterall ). She goes under the name Raefraction (a spoof of her real name, which is Racheal and of Refraction's name of course). England, here I come I'll be sure to let anyone who's interested in knowing how it went. Wish me luck, I really hope this works out.
  20. I know I'm very late replying, but thanks everyone.
  21. Nah, not there yet, just giving people plenty of time to prepare.
  22. I'll post a pic or two of me and Refraction's sister once I get back form England (or maybe while I'm there). Just to give a head's up and warn you all right now.
  23. Yeah, I'll be the first to admit it certainly is one of the most power hungry apps I have ever used. Many games run at or near full speed for me given the specs in my sig (mind you the Core2 is overclocked to near 3Ghz). Typically, Square and Capcom games run best. Dual core and a moderate to high end video card are almost a requirement in order to get good speeds with it.
