What can I do with it that I can't do on my pc?? If there is a unique reason why I should re-purchase a DC I will, but if my pc can do the same thing why should I spend the money??? I am not trying to aggrievate anyone, just curious.

yeah, it is old school. Guess I have been around a while there is an Infocom pack floating around on the hub right now also. it has all the Infocom games ever released, and the emus to run them. that was part of my reasoning for posting the site cause the pack does not include any of the docs.

LOL, I discovered this site a few years back and thought it was pretty cool too. Only thing was I could never get my vehicles to stay together......Stupid Gravity!!

If anyone out there is into the old text based Infocom games this site is worth a look see. It has scans of all the manuals, and other items that came with the retail games. In some cases, you need this info to play the game as you were asked for certain information that they contained. Infocom Repository

yeah I bought that book a while back. I like some of the "ads" on the first few front pages. They have a couple of other books out there that have some of thier better articles in them. If you get a chance, check them out too

I never really broke a system. But, I went through a good number of Atari 2600's back in the day. I chalk it up to poor quality machines. All of the other systems which I have owned, and still own work. From the C64 to the PS1 and everything in between!!

I am trying to run Mario 64 on NEMU. I have a AMD Athalon 800 with a GeForce 32 Meg DDR video card. The game runs fairly smoothly, and the controlls are ok, but whenever a text window pops up on the screen it is pure white, with some blurry, shakey ghost text behind it. I can't read it. Do I need some kind of bios file or something to get it to run right? Any suggestions?

The only fighter I really like (and played to compleation) was Karateka on the C64 when I was a lad. Although.....I did play Bruce Lee on the GBA the other day for well over an hour. Hiiii-YA!

Cartridges. They add more wieght to the package so it "feels" like you are getting more. Plus, if you get mad at the game you can throw them and even if the shell breaks you can still play the game

Most of the time if I can't wait to get something, I will drive the hour, and get it on release day from software etc... Otherwise, if the game has been out a few weeks I just go to Wal-Mart and get it. I really hate giving Wal-Mart any of my cash, but they have put most of the other stores in the small town I live in out of business, there by really limiting my choices

Nice to meet ya Paul, My name is James, and I live in Northern Wisconsin. I am 32,and the head chef at a local golf course. That can be cool as we are closed in the winter so I get lots of time off to play MAME, and other videogames..which has always been my hobby. I also like to fish. There are a lot of lakes and rivers where I live so I do that quite often in the summer. I am hoping to get up to Canada sometime in the near future to see what the fishing is like up there. Other then that, I like to watch professional sports, and try to get into as many fantasy leagues as I can afford. These two things allow me to hang out at the local tavern and enjoy my second favorite hobby....drinking beer ..oh yeah, and playing Golden Tee Golf (while drinking beer.)

My roomates hate me for it too My desk currentlly supports everything from key chains, empty drink bottles, yesterdays cup of coffee, pc parts, small/large fans, loose cds, knickknacks, a fishing reel, a stack of sports magazines, 3 remote controlls, dust bunnies, a caller id unit, a phone, my change box, a few photos, a printer that is AWOL, empty pc game boxes, scraps of REALLY important paper that I can't seem to read, an ashtray (full of course *cough*), some football cards, a few DVDs, 3 orphaned RAM Simms, some mail, the speakers for the pc, a pen cup minus the pens, some loose pens (hmmmmm ), and a AoK tech tree chart which like your box seems to be at the present....stuck
