  1. hehe, I thought your original post was ok. Maybe the guy just read it wrong, or is a really devout Mormon or something. I had a similar experiance at Edgeemu when I posted a comment about that it would be easier to "just buy a 5200 off ebay then to get my emu to work right". Apparentlly the Mod took it as a personal rip on his teaching ability (which consisted of "READ THE READ ME!!"). Something I had done multiple times. He thretened to ban me (this was my 80th post, and first problem), and then locked the topic down. I never went back
  2. I think it is a mistake if they replace Mario, but I could see Nintendo doing something like this. Mario has been around for a long time and I am sure Nintendo believes that they have to update thier image in order to attract younger players. Unfortunatlly, Pickachu would be a step in that direction.
  3. Wow, I may sound like an arse by saying this as no one else has brought it up but what about PC Gamer? I have always thought that thier reviews are precise, and to the point, and I like the commentary. Personally, I have a closet ful of old console related mags, but I don't buy them too much any more as the last console I purchased was the N64.
  4. Umm, I wish I could leave a coment, but because this is the only forum I visit on a regular basis, I have nothing to draw on. I guess i will take Gamecops word for it. I like this forum BTW!
  5. I got a 126 which they consider borderline high. As far as these things being acurate, I can say that I have taken about 3 or 4 of them on-line over the years, and I always seem to get a 124-128. In that regard if they are flawed, they are all flawed to the same degree. I don't believe they can acurately gauge someones intelligence though. What does solving a word jumble prove?? They are kind of neat to do just to see how well you can solve various problems.
  6. No doubt. One time a friend asked me for some games so I set him up with about 1000 mame games, and a full crack of quake 3 with multiplay and he never played them cause he said he couldn't figure out how to work mame, and quake 3 was too hard to play. I laughed at him, and told him I would get him a 2600, and then he could play games on his tv.
  7. I pick in me ears with pen caps (Bics are the best). Is this bad? I have a clean ear fetish I think.
  8. Actually, Gatorade was a drink invented by students at Florida State. Hence the name GATOR(ade).....(Florida Gators). I do not know who owns the rights to the name now, but I am sure it is a major money maker.
  9. Yes, I can tell you a little more about my pc. pc = Crap New harddrive = more space Sorry if I seemed a little self involved. Just happy thats all. For Christ's sake, I have no one to talk to about comps where I live....gotta tell some people who know what I am talking 'bout. Ya' know??
  10. I gotta go with Gatorade. Powerade has a wierd after taste for me. BTW, anyone here know where Gatorade was invented (specifically)?
  11. Yeah! I finally got a new hard drive in my pc. I have been wanting to get a new one for a while now, and Office Max had a sale on a 120 GB so I went and got it. Finally, no more DL, Burn, DL, Burn, DL, Burn, etc.... Hopefully I will have all my emus, and ROMs on there by the end of next week, and be back on the HUB. I am sooooo frickin' happy
  12. Currently I am on a GBA kick, but my favorite emulator of all time is MAME. The mass amount of games, the fact that I loved to play them in the arcade, ease of use, and finally neat little personal touches you can add to the GUI are just too cool. I know the thread started as "favorite system" so if it had to be a system I would go with the SNES. My favorite 16 bit system, and also a darn fun system to emulate.
  13. I have been avidly playing games since the 2600 days and I don't think that much has changed if you think about it (Besides the obvious graphics improvements). How many good games were there for say the 2600? How about Colecovision? or even the Commodore 64? Evene when you get into the 90's with the 16 bit systems there really were not that many great games, Although the 90's was IMHO the highpoint of the industry in so far as the highest average of quality titles as opposed to bad ones. I think that if you can get 10-20 great games for any given system you are doing good. As far as graphics being highlighted nowdays instead of gameplay I will agree with everyone on that. Gameplay should always be the focus of any development team, and then they should design the grapics around that solid concept/plot. In the old days, the grapic capabilitys of the machines just wasn't there so developers had to concentrate on gameplay. But, even then there were a lot of crap games Pac-Man and E.T. for the 2600 come instantly to mind. At least today you can rent before you buy. I spent a lot of hard earned allowance money on sh1t games when I was younger.
  14. It says I will make it to 74. Honestly, I'll be happy to make it to 47
  15. LOL, I almost crapped myself when I logged on to the main page today and the first few words I read say "THE END OF.....". For a brief second, I thought the site was dead.
  16. Gamecop, I like the new look. It's really easy on the eyes There is a little problem though. When you changed the word emulforums to 1emulation across the board it screwed up some of the instructions on how to get into the DC hub. New users here may visit the DC threads and read the tutorials on how to enter the hub....but now the address is incorrect. It might be a good idea to go into those stickys and edit the address. Other then that, looks great!!
  17. Doing a search for said trojan at Trend pc's site I got 16 hits. Here are the results: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc...sdbot&alt=sdbot You might want to try the free virus scan they offer at this site. If you know where the TH is residing, you can scan just that folder/file. It is kind of a cheap on-line scan type program, but the results may give you an idea on how to remove it. Anything is worth a shot right?
  18. I agree with you on most of that emsley!! I found Emuforums back in March, and was really impressed. I am almost to 100 posts, and am looking forward getting into the rom sector. Also, the DC hub is a great reasource that I think too many people are just to lazy to check out. Everytime I go there looking for something I find it. Sure, I might have to wait a while for a slot, but so what. Set it up and go to bed. Usually by morning the DL's are all finished. For the people who don't want to hassle with learning DC...too bad. It's hard to help people who don't help themselves....literally!! The best thing about these foeums though is that there are not that many beggers, or "I NEED THIS ROM" type people posting here. Also, the Moderators seem very patient, and helpfull. As proof to this just compare how many locked topics there are here to say....Edge Emulation. Keep up the good work guys. In my opinion this is the best emulation forum out there.
  19. I think this is going to be a really big story in the months to come. The PSP looks like it is going to be a cool little machine, and knowing Sony, they are going to promote the heck out of it. From what I can tell, Nintendo is not worried yet, and is focusing on games that link the GBA to the GC. Sonys angle seems to be more toward the PC user sector as this quote implies: "Additionally, the machine will come equipped with a USB 2.0 port, allowing high speed data transfers and will have a slot for Sony's memory stick data storage technology." This should be fun to watch and see how it all turns out. Some links to CNN articles on this: Sony Takes on GB (CNN) Nintendo Dismisses Sony GBA Rival (CNN)
  20. Get it off of the Emulforums DC hub. There were 5 people who had it there when I checked, after reading your post, not including me. There are instructions on how to get into the hub here: DC hub instructions!! Also, please include the ROM number for any GBA ROMs in the future. It makes a quick search on our end a lot easier. The GBA ROM ReNamer list is here: ReNamer Web Site!!
  21. Ceasers Palace for the SNES is pretty compleate as far as games you will find in the US go's. I used this game to learn how to play craps way back when. Good luck when you play for real
  22. The Hulk looks like it may be pretty cool too.
  23. I remember playing either Pong, or a Pong bootleg game at a relatives wedding when I was like 5 years old. The first Home game I played was a self-contained (no cartridriges) Magnovox (?) unit that had three games to choose from. Pong, a Race game, and shoot the block type game. Very hi-tech eh?
  24. This is a tough choice, but I have to go with the SNES. I really like Metroid, Castlevania, and the Final Fantasy games. Plus, Sega pissed me off with the CD rom. Just compare Prince of Persia on Sega CD to Prince of Persia on SNES. The SNES version kicked a@@ compared to Sega CD's version.
