  1. Hi Elconejotres, OK - well that's good to know you've already tested that theory. Is this problem in Mednafen on the PC as well? If its not, its probable that the issue can be resolved on the XBOX version - at least I hope! Porting a whole new emulator would take a lot of work, trial, and error. Not sure if anyone is up for that unfortunately. Thanks again for your efforts and looking forward to the list! I'm working on it as fast as I can, but there are many games, besides the bin/cue solution is not viable either, it has the same bugs regarding the cue system, I have tried so far BIN/CUE, ISO/CUE, ISO/WAV, and even BIN/HCD and the results are the same so the only choice is fixing the perfect cue system, or porting another pcecd to xbox (magic engine, ootake)
  2. You rock! Thanks!!
  3. By the way, you guys may like this site: http://pcengine.co.uk/index.htm Cos sent it to me.
  4. Weird, you're right about the files. (Although I haven't tried to launch DRACULA X in CoinOps yet - so I can't confirm the sound issue) Elconejotres, have you had a chance to pull that list together?
  5. Bigby, That's what I found. Whenever I used BIN/CUES - the music wouldn't play. BP, a way around this would be to either ZIP the CUE/ISO/MP3 PCE CD rips and have CoinOps decompress them when they are launched or have CoinOps ignore ISO and MP3 files in the romlist. The later is what MednafenX_pce does in the most recent releases. Let me know if you need any of the rips.
  6. Ya, that folder drilling is annoying, that was one of the reasons I wanted to fix the set. BP, if you need any of these for COINOPS let me know.
  7. That's good to know. I've only ever been able to 'rip' these games (and have them work) using either TurboRip or Xport's CDDissect - both of which output cue/toc/iso/mp3 files. Maybe once we have the list, we can investigate the possibilty of converting the problematic games to BIN/CUE to sidestep the issue. Thanks for the tip, Fumanchu!
  8. Hi, Well, knowing there is a problem is the first step in solving it. I'm looking forward to that list. The next time I speak to Madmab, I'll be sure he takes a look at it. If its a problem with the perfect cue system, it shouldn't be too difficult to issolate the problem. That list will be essential though since it will reveal the 'in common' errors. Thanks again! Well the cdda music don't stoping is only a problem with the cds, the turbo chips (cards) uses mostly chiptunes and midis so if the music don't stop in darius is because the game is developed that way, in the other hand, the replacement of the tocs with the ones generated in turborip is not a real solution because turborip was designed by RIGG in order to be used with the HU-GO emulator, besides many factors make a game play wrong, from the fact of having a crappy image (ISO/MP3) to even have a "verified" image with synch problems, Turborip only checks and correct the length of the files, but if the audio tracks are wrong, crappy, distorted, or even modified the tool can't detect that, for an example I made a custom Double Dragon II image for my xbox sometime ago in which I replaced the original music tracks with the ones in the arrange album (which actually sound thousands of times better), the only thing necesary to do it was to rename the wave tracks in the correct names and use toc fixer to make the lengths of the tracks match with the toc in turborip, when I used Turborip to make my ISO/CUE/MP3 the tool recognizes the valid toc and say that the image was valid with no mistakes. Besides the problem are the files inside the "pcetoc.zip" file, the .lsn files are just tocs (open those with notepad) but that tocs are designed to emulators with the cores of HU-GO, in most of the cases the games works fine but in others totally screws the game, the start sector in this files is 0000 which is wrong because some pcecds start at sector 150 and then you must do ceiling calculations (and yes I can't do that calculations because I'm not into programing) so it only need a person (like madmab) with the skills and the experience necesary in order to be fixed (besides even if it sounds to be very troublesome and complicated it is not in reality, is just a quick revision and correction thing) so I will work in the list with my limited knowledge and see if that proves usefull to madmab.
  9. Hey Elconejotres, Yes, this list is great - thank you! Regarding the bugs, I think you mentioned something about the music not stopping and I wonder if this is limited to the CD based games. I loaded up Darius (the US card release) and I noticed when I paused the game, the music continued. I thought this was weird, but having not played the actually game in years - I'm unable to know for sure if this is incorrect or not. Can you look into this as well? I wonder if the included TOCs would work OK if this ended up being a bug somewhere else in the emulator. If it is just the TOCs we could always replace them with new ones from TurboRip right? Or are those goofed up too? Thanks again
  10. Hey Neo, Since you have the upgraded XBOX - you will be able to play all the midways at full speed and with sound. Just move the ROMS back into the main rom folder after you download EPIC and in your settings - ENABLE force sound on. I think that setting is on the last page. You should also remove the shortcuts in the main rom folder. They are 0k ZIPS - I think M1 thru M5. You'll also need to rename the videos to match the rom name. This will make more sense once you see the files. BP, I noticed that the sound is MUCH improved on MK1 - it used to be too low. Is this because of a new rom or did you upgrade the driver? By the way, certain PSX games in CoinOps makes a lot of sense since the PSX based hardware MAME games are too intensive for the XBOX. It would be a smart way to include these arcade games. Cheers
  11. Wow - this is fantastic! Thank you both, especially you Elconejotres! Let me know what PCE CD games are giving you problems and I'll help you out best I can. Thanks!!!!
  12. Why not just download EPIC and remove the console ROMs if you don't want them?
  13. Hello, I'm make new rips to replace the ones that were in the XTRAS because they had a low bitrate 128kb and were named in the generic way so they had to be in folders - making it difficult scrolling through the games. The new set will be at 320kb and will have the proper naming convention. This will make it possible through the Xport/Madbmab emulator to only see cues - which will make browsing and selecting a game less cumbersome. I'm putting out a call for Japanese PC ENGINE CD game recommendations that were not included in the XTRAS. There were a lot in there, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything missing before I begin. I'm NOT looking for: - Untranslated Japanese RPGs that an English speaker couldn't play - Games that have a US release I am looking for: - Awesome SHMUPS - Action games - Weird games that are playable - aka - Japanese language not required Thanks in advance!
  14. I can't agree with this more. When Cos and I were requesting perfect pixel we both had very complicated ideas on how to integrate the functionality into CoinOps. BP listened to us and we went back and forth. Eventually, he found a way to enable it with a very easy, basic setting. He knows whats up and I think his plan to release sources and evaluate what people come up with before inserting it into a build is a smart one. Just my 2 cents.
  15. Hello, I'm still working on my arcade list, but it probably won't be ready till the end of the month. My job will be keeping me busy the next few weeks. Thanks!
  16. Nice to know Avalaunch is better for transferring files. Thanks for the tip!
  17. Hmm, they use the same driver, so I'm guessing it just needs a controller tweak? Whats the problem you have Carlo?
  18. Just loaded up Virtua Fighter with EPIC - thanks to IQ & BP's work on the the updated driver! On my upgraded 1.4/128 XBOX it runs 56 FPS with full sound. It runs 60 FPS in the arcade, but the few dropped frames aren't noticeable at all. People should test it on a stock XBOX, it may be playable.
  19. I like the console support BP. I'd use it more if it had perfect pixel, but that's mainly due to the way my setup is. However, I will say, if I play N64 on an Xbox, its with CoinOps as its SO simple compared to the Surreal. Nothing against the Surreal guys - who are doing a great job - its just a chore to get running properly. I think PSX games are really important for CoinOps because there are so many PSX-based games that cannot be added to CoinOps. Including them this way is a smart workaround in my opinion. Again, perfect pixel would rock. Thanks!
  20. LOL, good to see you, Ems! I actually figured it out. I was half asleep when I was trying to set it up and realized the next day I hadn't done the calibration properly.
  21. Anyone use these? I just picked one up and I can't seem to get it to work well. It seems to do everything in reverse - ie: I point up, it aims down, I move right, it aims left. Really annoying. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. Hey BP, I think this is pretty good. I don't think you need the lower case 'e' in the background. I miss the fire from Inferno too, but I see why it was removed. Do you want to play some Photoshop tennis with me this weekend so we can play around with some ideas?
  23. Looks like we got 8 seeds going now. Keep em coming! Bigby, have you spoken with Rx lately? Never see him online anymore and I was wondering how he is doing.
  24. Thank you for seeding!!!!!!
