  1. I second that. Not that I actually have a 360, but I bought the SSF2T HD remix as a birthday present for my brother in law, and I think it's easily the best game on live arcade. So if they did make a HD remix of MVC2 it'd be even more awesome. What I'd really like to see is the crappy 3D backgrounds made into 2D ones. I always hated the 3D backgrounds. They sucked compared to the 2D ones of the other Marvel games. Doesn't matter though since it'll never happen. Can you imagine the time it'd take to redraw all those characters?
  2. Pooper scooper. When Kenshiro said it'd been fixed before I assumed that the fixes he posted on neosource included that. Or maybe they do but no one's compiled a build that includes those fixes yet. Here's hoping there's a new release soon coz I really do wanna see the neogeo games back in the right category.
  3. He means your personal message inbox. If Fu sent you a message then chances are it says 1 new message at the top right of your screen. Click that to read your messages. Oh look, we all posted at the same time.
  4. I had the parent version of KOF 2003 and it would run but there was major graphical distortions and stuff that made it unplayable. I just got rid coz I have all the other versions of KOF to play still. About the latest revision of 1.29c, is there a new build that someone could link to? I know there were some fixes posted by Kenshiro not too long ago, which I think may have included the neogeo game tags fix, but I don't have a clue how to compile, nor do I have the latest source code to do so anyway.
  5. I just had to search to find out what a BBC Micro was. There are so many consoles I didn't even know about.
  6. I couldn't imagine running emus off a dvd. My FBA-XXX Pro romset is over 3 gigs on it's own. And I've got less than half the games it supports. You're talking 5 different romsets on one dvd, gonna have to be very picky about what games make it on. I don't even use game dvds on my xbox anymore, all my games are on my hard drive. Getting up and putting a dvd in is almost alien to me. I do have backups of games I, um, aquired, rather than bought. And where I've had small ones I've made multi game dvds using Craxion, but I've always had trouble with them. They usually refuse to load one or all of the games I put on them. So big hard drive always wins.
  7. I used to be a student. But now I've graduated I'm a jobless bum.
  8. Ok, so here is the final release of my Legends skin, including both standard definition and 720p versions. For those who haven't seen it, it looks something like this: For those just tuning in, you'll want the full version, Legends_Full.rar. This has everything you need; the music, the backgrounds, the bits and bobs, the all important xml, and also the HD backgrounds and HD xml for those running FBA in 720p. Link: http://files.filefront.com/13784430 For those who grabbed the beta release earlier and run FBA in standard definition, you might want to get this file, Legends_SD_Update.rar. This contains slightly updated backgrounds and a slightly tweaked xml to overwrite the ones you have. Just some minor modifications were made. I thought I'd offer this update separately so you don't have to download the full 85mb file again. Link: http://files.filefront.com/13784252 And for those who grabbed the beta release earlier and run FBA in 720p, you might want to get this file, Legends_HD_Upgrade.rar. This contains the updated HD backgrounds, and the all important HD xml. You'll need the HD optimised xml so the info and things display in the right places for 720p. And again the backgrounds have been modified slighty from the ones I posted before, so to be up to date without downloading the full file, grab this and overwrite what you have. Link: http://files.filefront.com/13784270 Thanks to cba.gy for testing the HD backgrounds, and for making the HD xml file. Credit must be given to the author of FBA's default skin, as I took some bits from it, as you might see. That's everything. Have a nice day.
  9. Yes you may, I'm in the middle of uploading the full updated versions. I'll link to them in the thread called FBA-XXX Skins. Be about half an hour coz of crappy upload times. Sorry, make that an hour, I just got disconnected and have had to start again. Balls. Edit: Done. Go to this thread for links: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php...27283&st=44
  10. Just waiting on the final xml from cba.gy and I'll update the rars I have and link to them all. There'll be a rar with everything you need in, the songs, both sets of pictures and both xmls, for people who haven't tried the earlier releases. Then there'll be a rar with just the updated HD pictures and HD xml, for HD users who already grabbed the first release of the SD skin. And there'll also be a rar with just the updated SD pictures and SD xml, coz I made slight modifications to them too. I was thinking of putting it in the thread that's just been bumped called FBA-XXX Skins, since that seems to make sense. I'll explain the different rars there too. Or I could make a new thread all together if you think that'd be better.
  11. Got the background music all sorted a while ago. I ripped the Battle Garegga tracks from the Saturn version at the highest quality possible to work with when mixing the tracks, then converted the final piece down to 64bit wma like FBA needs to play.
  12. Go for it. I thought of that earlier too. Just got back in so I'll start on the pictures again. I'll PM you the first one when done so you can see what it looks like.
  13. That's the plan. I'm gonna be making a small modification to the pictures themselves, basically adding a couple of lines down the left side for the romlist to line up with, cba.gy suggested I try adding something down the left side to balance the skin. So we'll see what that looks like. I'll be doing that tonight coz I'm out of town today. Things are looking pretty spot on as they are now though I think.
  14. Don't worry about upsetting anyone, right now you're fiddling with the default values not mine, if you used the default xml to start with. That's why the romdata's in that order and the title and previous/next sytem icons are too low, coz the turqoiuse bar is lower down in the default skin. It's interesting that it just resizes the 640x480 values to fit 720p. That means that the xml I made would have almost worked. Just that the rom info would've been too squished together coz I squeezed it to fit how I wanted. Anyway, keep up the good work. I know xml editing isn't the most exciting thing in the world.
  15. Looks good, even the longest rom names shouldn't interfere with the character's pictures now. Haggar in particular makes more sense in HD I think now I've mirrored him. I'd have done that in the standard def one too but because there isn't the extra horizonal space the romlist ends up going over his face instead of his shoulder. Anyway, a few things I'd edit. The previoussystem, nextsystem and title values should be brought up so that the icons and text appear within the top turquoise bar. Also check that the main menu lines up with the romlist, I like things lined up nicely too. And I'd swap some of the romdata values around. I'd put company where players is, system where company was, and then players where system was. If that makes sense. That way the uber long company names and system names of certain roms won't display over the CPS1/CPS2/NegGeo/Others logos. Do all that, and you can have a cookie, and we can release your xml so that everyone can have the skin in HD. Booya.
  16. Holy. F**king. Sh*t. I look away for a minute and this happens. I've been so busy with old arcade games I haven't been paying any attention to what's going on with new PC games. Gameplay footage that proves the new version of DNF fully exists and they shut down. Nice. And the now separate Apogee are making three entirely different Duke Nukem games? So they've essentially been working on four Duke Nukem games at once? No wonder they couldn't afford to stay open. They should've just released the version they had in 2001. It would've been fine back then. They would've made some money, which might have helped to make the current version actually be released, as a sequel. Arse.
  17. So yeah they should just be shoved in with others I reckon. If cps3 in FBA ever happened. Making a HD version of my skin now, cba.gy offered to test for me as I don't have a HD TV. I did PM you by the way cba.gy but not sure if it got sent coz it's not in my sent folder. Anyway I'll upload the resized pictures when they're done and you can see how they look. Edit: They're done, and thinking about it, I may as well just link to them here: http://files.filefront.com/13770833 Those are just the resized pictures. What needs to be done now is a new config.xml needs to be made with updated positions for everything. So for each category, inlcuding the non-category view, all the xy values will need changing. The game preview needs to be made to line up with the new stretched window in the pictures. The menu may need moving, the romlist, title, previoussystem, nextsystem, loadinginfo, fbaxsetup, totalroms, zipname, players, company, year, system, everything probably. And I can't offer any clue as to what values should be used coz I don't have a HD TV to test. So over to you HD TV owners. If anyone who makes an xml that works nicely could send it to me with maybe a screenshot of how it looks that'd be great and I'll include it in the archive I've just linked to. Side note: Who the f**k killed me and Fu? Update: Inky Killed me. Damn him. And he's too strong to kill back. But it was Echoman who killed you Fu. I've attacked him and he's nearly dead. Finish him off. Avenge yourself! Tiger Knee him in his red and blue balls! Update 2: No need Fu. Did it for you. He's dead. I'll stop editing this post now.
  18. Isn't JoJo's Bizarre Adventure just an updated version of JoJo's Venture? That's why I was counting it as one like SF3. Anyway if FBA-XXX did all of a sudden play the cps3 games I'd grab them to add to the collection. Don't think it'd require it's own category though seen as even with the 'sequels' to SF3 an JoJo, it's still only six games. I'm going by Wikipedia's list there. There aren't some others I don't know about?
  19. Not completely sure how. I assume I'd just have to make the pictures 1280x720, which would involve stretching the pictures of the characters beyond their actual size and aspect ratio. I've just resized them now as a test and they look ok on my computer screen, but that's a 1024 x 768 monitor. Not sure how great they'd look on a HD TV. You could try yourself, just resize the pictures and see how it looks. Of course all the menu text, icons, romlist and game previews won't line up with the pictures anymore after resizing, so the config.xml would need modifying to compensate. I'd test it myself if I could but I don't have a HD TV, so the option to display in 720p doesn't even appear on my menu in FBA. Does it just detect that you have a HD TV and automatically display in 720p? Or does an option appear in the menu or something?
  20. I could but is there any real difference? I might be interested in having the original and double impact, just to complete my street fighter collection. But anyway since there's really only 3 different games on cps3, (Red Earth, Jojo, SF3) and I only really like SF3, I'm not too bothered about cps3 being perfected on the xbox coz I've got the SF3 port which is perfect. Well, apart from the fact that they should've used the SF2 characters as well as the new ones. I'd like to tiger knee Gill in his red and blue balls.
  21. Interesting. I have the SFIII 3rd Strike port from Anniversary Collection though, which is all I really want from CPS3. I deleted the Hyper Street Fighter II part though coz it's balls. And a total waste of over a gig of hard drive space. Just left the 3rd Strike files behind and renamed it's xbe so I can launch it independently of the Anniversary Menu. I mean Hyper was a nice idea, but what's the point of being able to choose every different version of the characters when the cpu only ever plays as Super Turbo versions. Rhubarb. And that anime movie? Super Shinku Hadoken Rhubarb. Unrelated, is FBA-XXX Pro supposed to save high scores?
  22. You can knock them out pretty quick then. Pictures I mean. Easy when you know how I suppose. Took me a while to make mine coz I didn't have a clue. I didn't even know how to use layers in paint shop till I started messing around making my skin. And if it weren't for the magic wand tool I'd have been screwed. Course I'm using a very old version which I'm sure doesn't help. I must get a better program and learn to use it properly. My method of cutting out characters from pictures was very sloppy. Oh and CPS3? Something for FBA-XXX's future maybe? Lol.
  23. Glad people like mine. Yours is cool JacKc, I considered red. The only thing I'd say about it is that with the default config.xml the romlist will cover the character's pictures which would be a shame. You could make an xml that makes the romlist display in the blank space at the right under the logo.
  24. Just means you like man thongs. Who's to say if that's wierd. Finished my skin. Posting a beta release here. I've called it Legends, because each category has a picture and background music representing the game I think was most iconic to that system. The music for each category is in each case from a remixed or arranged soundtrack of the game that I could find. For CPS1, Mike Haggar, representing Final Fight. Music from Final Fight CD. For CPS2, Ken Masters, representing Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Music from the SSF2T HD Remix. For NeoGeo, Terry Bogard, representing King of Fighters '98. Music from King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match. For Others, the Black Heart plane, representing Battle Garegga. Music from the Saturn version. For the non category view, (If you disable every menu) the picture is of all four together. The background picture for vertical games and moves lists is from DarkStalkers. (Not that it works for me) Music for the ingame menu is from DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou. Just coz I like it. The music for the non category view is a separate file from the others called Allmenu.wma. At the moment it's just a copy of the CPS2 track coz it's my favourite. I made it a separate file so that if you do like to use the non category view, you can swap it out with a copy of your favourite track. I may get round to making a medley of all the tracks I made to use for Allmenu.wma so it's different. I may also eventually remake all the tracks so that they're a lot shorter. I realise they're so long that you won't hear all of them in the emulator unless you spend 20 to 40 minutes choosing a rom. A feature suggestion that would solve this problem would be if an mp3 player was incorporated into the emulator, so that you could have a bunch of different tracks for each category, which play through while you're choosing a rom, then pause when you're playing a game, then resume when you either enter the ingame menu or close the rom. I know it's very unlikely but it'd be cool, you could put it on shuffle so you don't hear the same tracks over and over, which is the only problem with my skin as is. Anyway, hope people like my skin. Link: http://files.filefront.com/13770765 Edit: Since I've now completed the HD version and made a final release, I've updated this link, just in case anyone wanders onto this part of the thread and decides to click it. If you do, you'll now get the full release, instead of the beta. Booyaa.
