  1. right on buddy. no matter what settings the other emu's have, im probably just going to end up with coinops anyway because of everything else it has. if that means i get no autofire with my xarcades, so be it, but it still kinda sucks.
  2. i thought i vaguely remembered a medal of honor game that didn't ever get released. Edit: Medal of Honor: Airborne http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/medalo...orne/index.html Edit 2: see if this link works. there are about 3 pages of canceled games here. not all were completed or even came close im sure, but there are some pretty cool ones there. http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=ga...=all&page=0
  3. If BritneysPAIRS gets around to adding the feature that lets us lock .XML settings for each game, you *should* be able to set auto fire for the games that need it without having to mess with it again. Would this be an acceptable workaround for you? well, i dont need autofire...its just nice sometimes to turn it on if i want it. if it never happens it never happens, i just like autofire cuz im lazy
  4. and for the autofire thing? edit: nevermind didnt read the whole post edit 2: lol "bubble booble"
  5. hey bp, did you see my questions from a couple posts back?
  6. hey bp, is there any way to turn on autofire without using the thumsticks? i have an x arcade for p1 and p2, so you cant click any thumbsticks...is there a way to reconfigure controls or enable an alternate button sequence to do this? also, i was wondering if all of the cores are necessary if they are not being used. for me, i am only using coinops for arcades (though its awesome that all those other consoles are supported) because i have my own romsets and they are named a certain way for me, etc. if i am not using the cores, can i delete them? its not really i big memory issue, just wondering if its possible. last question, i had asked a while back if you could update bublbobl to work with the new romsets and you said you would do/had already done it, but its not in there...was it ever completed?
  7. oh my bad...misunderstood the thread rename as it being released i guess. well thats alright term papers to work on anyway.
  8. hey, can I have a link for reignite x please?
  9. @megabungle thats a pretty good list. unfortunately as cba said, many of those are not yet supported in even the newest mame versions. when you were looking for those lightgun games, did you happen to come across a two player game where one player drives a jeep and the other player shoots? i believe this was a zombie game. i came across it once, but cannot remember the name now...very unfortunate as it looked pretty fun.
  10. ok, thanks. i am using 10 files at a time now and have not had problems yet. some xbmc skins have 2000 files, and would take nearly ten minutes to transfer. now its only 1-2 minutes. much better! i just wonder about fragmentation...
  11. many ftp clients allow the transfer of multiple files simultaneously. is it safe to do this when ftp'ing to an xbox? it seems like this could greatly speed up the time it takes to ftp many small files (trainers, screenshots, etc.), but i don't know if this is supported. i am using xbmc.
  12. "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable." Edit: Works fine. Patience is helpful at times.
  13. im sorry, but this doesnt quite answer my question. what pixel perfect setting should i use? (1,2,3,autofit,overfit,10x11)? i guess im just confused. if i can just use the scale option to get what i want (the correct aspect ratio for each game scaled onto my screen), then what are all of these other options for??
  14. well, i havent quite been keeping up with all of the updates that are going on here lately. so just wondering, what are all of these new pixel perfect settings, and which is the best to use? aka, can i set my screen size one time, and have every game displayed at the correct aspect ratio scaled to fit my screen? i have a 16:9 widescreen tv. also, when playing games for other consoles, do my roms need to all be renamed to be recognized and work in coinops? ("Chrono Trigger" >> "SNES_ChronoTrigger")? if so, what is the easiest way to go about this? thanks!
  15. thanks for all the info. for some reason i was having a very hard time finding info on the tsop sizes, so i didnt know which bios('s) i could use.
  16. do you know anything about tsop flashing? like which bios's if any do better with an upgraded xbox, or which are just the best overall?
  17. the gpu will definitely be cleaned first. i have the arctic silver cleaning stuff. it was a package deal with the arctic silver 5. but that is my pre-upgraded board. the new cpu is not on there yet, so i dont really know what will fit in terms of heatsinks. im not sure if i will be going for a passive one yet or not. my case fan is pretty powerful, so it may be enough to keep it all cool. ill see what trusty supplies for my cpu heatsink and try that out for starters. if its not enough for me or doesnt fit the slim case, i will improvise. Right on, let me know how that goes. I"m still debating on if i'm going to spend the money and get one of trusty's new boards. The only reason i can think to get one is just to have such a rare xbox item. I know that some 720p movies will play back but that is the only benefit i see, other than making Linux run better. the videos and overall xbmc performance are one of my main reasons. the other would be emulation. n64 games can benefit from the extra memory, and mame will make use of the new cpu in order to play more games at full speed (mortal kombat with sound ftw). linux is also a plus. plus the bragging rights of having the baddest xbox on the block. lol.

  19. its not quite obvious from the picture you posted, but which way do i orient the iceberq on the mb? do i need to make new screw holes, or can i use the ones that are already there? i have an iceberq 4 pro, so the screws are 80mm apart. if i can use the holes already there, can you point them out in this picture (sorry for the ghetto numbers, i hacked it together in like 10 seconds).
  20. i always used them, i'm not too sure if they really do help with temps but once again they look cool. I put it on the RAM chips and the other big chip by the LPC holes. I just figured using them couldnt hurt and you dont want to let them go to waste now. yes, i will definitely not let them go to waste. unfortunately they will not fit on the bottom ram chips, but the iceberq only came with 4 heatsinks anyway, which is perfect for the top chips in a 128mb box. i am also putting a heatsink on the mcpx chip you mentioned. heres a good heatsink and guide if it isnt obvious enough how to install it http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/xbox_locks_up.htm
  21. so the iceberq came with some ram heatsinks as well. they are a little big for the xbox ram chips, and i know that they are unnecessary, but could they be beneficial without getting in the way of anything else? again, i know they are not needed, but i kinda want to add them just because i can, as long as they wont hurt anything else. would they drop temps or even help performance a slight amount?
  22. that's really a shame...that was a great idea that has no been done before, which would be just another reason to use coinops above other existing emus that can play the same games. dont let the other's get to you so much and just add the cool features lol. im really bummed this had to be taken out just cuz a smartass comment was taken too hard.
  23. if you just want them for games, most games have icons built in. for the few that dont, i have been making my own. btw, for those who dont know which to download, i am currently merging all files by checksum to make one definitive pack with everything that has been posted here. it should be up by tomorrow or the next day.
  24. wow. grr, you're the man. that is everything i wanted + a lot more lol. thanks a ton!
