I have played those games, and many more if not all major FPS games since almost the beginning, and a post apocalyptic setting like this is fairly original. I completely agree. There are so many great games I have played on the PS2. I actually think it surpasses the SNES in the quantity of the quality of the games. Sure there was A LOT of crap out of there for the PS2 but there was a lot of solid amazing games.

Beyond the fact that there are some mutants in Rage there is almost NO resemblance to any of those games you mentioned. It also has guns... By the time Carmack was programming the Doom engine id software was already fairly well off as a company because Commander Keen and Wolfenstein were fairly successful. But that is only a trivial matter. I'm not exactly sure what drives people to have these... You don't seem to be pretty sure of anything. And although the company had those previous titles, it was far from rich. That piece of trivia came from the Return to Castle Wolfenstein manual btw. Little sensitive there are we? I would trust a book that covered the lives of John Carmack and Romero to be a more reputable source than a video game manual. I downloaded the manual to look at it but I couldn't find it. What page was it on? And also this report by the Nightly Business Report following the release of Wolf 3D says they are a multi-million dollar business. What the hell you can't embed here?

Yeah OperaMini is great. I use it right now on my NOkia 6555 and I'm happy with it. It's the next best thing to the iphone browser.

You're pretty much completely wrong Chibi. 2x to 4x more powerful? What? It would have to be under specific and theoretical conditions. Did you watch the Carmack video? He would know just as much as PS3 exclusive developers and more than pretty much anyone on the issue outside of maybe Sony engineers. And Final Fantasy isn't going to decide sh!t. So what if it's the best looking game? It's winning an irrelevant contest. It's also just one game. What will decide the winner is what company and game can exploit all systems at once and provide the best experience.

Hi. I am Autobahn. I am a 21 y/o student living with my parents in Plano, TX. I am not German, I just like the word Autobahn and the Kraftwerk song Autobahn. I also like to drive fast so I wish I was on the Autobahn. I like first person shooters, SHMUPS, fighting games, arcade light gun games. I dislike RPGs and strategy games. I like old SNES games which I love to play in emulators in class (that's how I found this place). I like action movies. And porn. I dislike dramas and romance.

I love NYC! I really want to move there. But I am currently too poor and with no prospects.
