I'm not getting a lot of what I'm doing right now and would really appreciate help from anyone experienced. Currently, I have a SCPH-50001 PS2 with a clear case, Codebreaker 10, official 8MB memory card, and network adapter. I have a HDD arriving soon, as well as HDDLoader.
Right now, I'm trying to set up these elf files so that they are easier to use, for both me and my girlfriend. I bought the PS2 so we could watch DivX and Xvid movies easily at her place, so it is essentially my gift to her that makes me happy as well.
I was able to install FMC onto the memory card, but nothing else. I have on my main screen uLauncherelf and a configuration program. My goal with this system is simple:
Play -
SNES
Genesis
NES
MAME
DivX
Xvid
PS2 games on the HDD
These I'm pretty sure the PS2 can do, correct? I was already able to launch a DivX movie, and it worked really well. I was impressed. My main problem is menu navigation. I need this to not only look good, but be simple enough so my girlfriend can use it when I'm not around. Is there any way to make just those elf programs show up on the main PS2 menu? If not, is there a good looking elf launcher I can replace the standard one with?

Edit: BTW, I set this up in this section because the PS2 one wasn't really getting many views. I know it needs to be moved, just wanted some feedback as soon as I could get it.

Its set-up? lol! It's just getting hooked up to my girlfriends TV so we can watch movies and I can play games while she's doing... girl things. Of course I made it look pretty, I have to, I love modding things, but as of right now... No picture. I'd rather take one once it's all done.
Seriously, does anyone know if I can put more then uLaunchelf on the main PS2 screen, or does it all have to launch off an elf launcher?

Ok, so I got the exploit running. Now I'd like to make things a bit more streamlined. How do I replace uLaunchelf on the main screen with a more efficient loader? Also, is it possible to add more elf programs to the PS2 title screen instead of having to use a launcher all the time? I'd like to put SMS Media Player on the title screen, as well as another launcher.

Edit2: What I would eventually like to do is put emulators on my PS2, run PS2 games off the HDD, and store movies (divx, xvid) on it as well. Can I use codebreaker on games that are on my HDD?

Ok, I was trying to find a good codebreaker tutorial for the MC exploit, but really couldn't find one that was detailed enough for me. I was wondering if you guys could help. Let me know!
Edit: I just put a clear case on my PS2. It's the non-flip top kind and I'm having some problems with the disk stayin on track (2 round thingies). Any way to fix this?

I'm glad you asked Skythe. You see, this here is what's called a pissing match. Each side is trying to one up the other side with miniscule facts with no or little proof. And upon stating these said facts that he/she believe they've won the day. And let's not forget that there's always one or more people that claim that they in one way or another know the physical answer cuz they proclaimed they've physically dealt with whatever system they are defending. So this and any other thread like this is a spawn of the demon of stupidity. No one on either side do not realize that a real person on this planet does not give a fuk.

you know that the 360 hardware is a piece of crap, that is something that cannot be denied.
the older models were unreliable but with the release of the falcon last year and a newer update to the board there have been less reported rrods.
I used to work at a repair shop, and we were outsourced by M$ to fix 360's. It took my boss 4 months to finally say "I've had enough" and cancel fixing 360's. And yes, in that time I worked on a ton of them. I know what is wrong with the system and why I know it's unreliable.
I'll buy it when THEY (M$) redesign it, not before.

Actually, the first Halo isn't worth owning at all unless you own the CE edition on PC. The Halo to own is 2, not for the story, but for the MP as it has the best MP in the whole series.
I dislike wifi because it has a tendency to drop more then a wired connection. It's something I will not invest in until the technology it works 99% as good as a wired connection. From the speed, timing and stability.
The PS3 I got right now is mostly used for PS2 games because har har, my PS2 broke, again.
Oh, well I was thinking of the story of Halo. In terms of multi-player wouldn't 3 be better? Ionno, I tend to stick to Unreal and Quake for online FPS's. Do you use your WiFi on your PS3? I don't experience any drops in mine (my router is only 25 feet away though). I hate cords. If I can minimize the amount of cords I use, the happier I am.
What model is your PS2? I'll buy it off you if it's a SCPH-50000/50001.

Price shouldnt be a problem as most Xbox 360 owners end up spending 400+ on extra stuff that you get on the PS3 already.

He's talking about everything the PS3 comes with out of the box (in the box). Most 360 owners don't buy everything... right away. I have yet to meet someone who wouldn't prefer wifi from the get-go, everything else is a "I can live without" response.

There was never a second of doubt that GTA4 would be released for the 360 given that the financial rewards were always going to be greater from that release.
The point is that the thread is that MGS4 isn't coming to the 360. It's a clear 2 fingers up to 360 owners who are sensitive to this sort of thing. Personally I couldn't care less.

I'm all for at least trying MGS even though I was never really a fan of the cut-scene heavy set up. Celebrating the game for it's own merits is fine. Celebrating the fact that it isn't coming to 360 (or the Wii!), is pointless and inflammatory. Yes I know the story is true and Gouken had every right to post it, but he's intelligent enough to know that it would attract this exact response.
This is the PS3 section... I've been trying to tell everyone who has a problem with this, it's not the general section or the 360 section. I can promote Sony as much as I want in here. Why? Because it's the friggin PS3 section! I don't go to the any other section, and oh believe me I can, and demoralize everyone with bad news about their love consoles. I stick to Sony news. So what if this spilled over to the 360, I still didn't act like a jackass and post it in the 360 section. No, I posted it here so Sony fans and supporters could read it.
And as for Halo, I think ANY FPS fan who likes a decent FPS would agree with me that the first Halo was the only one worth owning. So no, you will never see me personally wanting Halo on the PS3. I understand IP's that tied to consoles. I know I will never see Fable, Halo, or Gears of War on the PS3. I'm fine with that, as are an enormous amount of PS3 owners. The PS3 costs just the right amount of money to seperate it from the boys, and yes, I make more then enough to afford a PS3 and games upon release. I wanted an adult looking console with media features as opposed to just playing games all the time. As I get older the length I put into a gaming session gets smaller and smaller. I'll be lucky if I play 2 hours a week these days.
Either way, the PS3 isn't going anywhere. Neither is the 360. So those who think the PS3 sucks just have to deal with it. You're gonna keep on thinking it sucks for the next 7-8 years while it continues to sell and become more common place.

it dosent matter if it was based on ps3 hardware,it could still be ported to the 360 and how would it be a butchered game exactly.both machines are as good as each other do you really think it wouldnt be as good on the 360 as the ps3 version gimme a break.By "butchered" I don't mean a bad port at all. As I said previously, I think the 360 hardware can handle it. But taking out a lot of what went into the game... like the iPod, Hard Drive, and Blu-Ray... It's been previously stated that the game would be different. Not story wise or maybe even graphics wise, but other things would have to be changed, such as more frequent loading, no iPod, no mention of previous MGS games (Microsoft would have to get the license from Sony I believe to put MGS1 in the game, my guess though), limited textures for OctoCamo. And this is stuff I can come up with, imagine what else a dev would have to make changes to?
I've played the game twice over already, it's a wonderful game. My intentions in my original post were to say "If you like MGS, and want to play the game, don't think because you own a 360 that you can't. There are other ways besides buying a PS3 to play it.". I thought I conveyed that correctly, but I guess I didn't.

It really is an amazing game and it would be a shame for a gamer to miss out on it just because he's a fanboy. I can understand if you can't afford the console, but try thinking outside the box a bit. Go to a friends house, rent the system. Other solutions are available to play this game besides buying it.

The system sucks, nothing is good about, all but 1 game (Which should now officially be titled /Interactive movie). That 1 game, isn't worth the price of the ShitStation 3. If Kojima don't want to the put the effort or Konami for that matter of bringing the game over to a system that doesn't hold equal to paper weight, fuk them. The only reason half you rejects even attempt a form of discussion in where you end up defending it is because deep down inside, you know you made a bad decision buying that grill, and no matter how many times you try to do something productive and cook, the meat always comes out raw.

im not really caring much about the article because konami knows how much 360s have been sold and there aint no way that a 360 metal gear wont get released.

Kojima created the game based entirely on PS3 hardware. He also marketed apple, sony, blu-ray, and several other IP's in the game to boot. Would you like a butchered game or the same experience as PS3 owners? If so, buy a PS3.

No, lol. I was speaking more about the people who want MGS4 for the 360, and biatch about it not coming over. The 360 isn't the end all be all of consoles this generation, the PS3 has a right to be just as good and have games that rock for it as well. I go to a ton of forums and you would never see anyone bitching and moaning that Halo or Gears of War aren't on the PS3. Yet, I constantly see "Wait, you'll see, M$ will buy out Konami and we'll get MGS4". Hell, even the games creator is getting annoyed by this.

Actually, a PSP emulator would be great for those who don't have one. Wonderful system with some great games... The iPhone is more powerful! I'd think a decent PC could emulate that at least...
