Using gief online is like the equivalent of input delay offline. He's terrible to use online for one reason: delay. Less is better, but the slightest delay you get will completely screw up Gief pressure play. If you want a true character that's broken, or rather just too safe to use, is Blanka. Nearly everything he does is too safe to punish and he'll hit and run you all day. Gief is NOT safe to use. Sure you'll get free SPDs from time to time, but 80% of the time your getting pressured to stay away.

Once again, only good in theory. They need to make a really good algorithm to make sure we get a decent streaming HD feed. Thus far, it would take 56m/bit connection to stream 24bit 720p video with h264 compression at the worst quality setting. No one has that kind of connection and the quality would be less then steller.

Hori sticks are universally recommended because half the serious players use them. The others use MAS sticks. There is one family of Hori sticks worth owning and it's the Real Arcade Pro series. EX, EX2 and anything else that doesn't have "Real Arcade Pro" in front of it are usually of a lesser calibur. Also PS2 controllers are trash, best controller to use for fighting games is a Saturn controller, or a clone of it.

Man, if your getting beaten by Giefs, you just suck at spacing. The only reason he does so much damage is because your letting him in for free to deal it. Was Guard Break scalable? Nope, FA goes with 3 levels, with level 3 being unblockable. If your getting Level 3s off, the people you are playing suck, or they don't know the game. Focus/Saving Strikes are breakable as well with certain moves.
