  1. Courtesy of the ever so lovely Bambi :3 1004 BP 271 Fights 123 Wins 45.44% Win ratio 12 game win streak Who wants to give me a 6 month card now :V!
  2. Their both Doujin games, that's why :/
  3. Mine runs fine and I got mine on sale for 99 bucks (usually 150 apparently) at fry's months back. I still haven't filled it up yet, but im getting close too.
  4. Actually, they really did admitted that this is really just GG but with different characters since Sega owns Guilty Gear now. Arksys doesn't.
  5. Yes and no. Yes they are drawn, but no because they made 3D models of the characters first and drew over them using photoshop filters.
  6. That is correct. Ono and Sven have gone on the record and said there will be no DLC characters, stages or music. They would rather put out an upgrade then put up DLC characters/stages/music. Even with DJ and T.Hawk models partly-complete, they aren't even animated, have no/incomplete storyboards, voices and the data isn't even on the disc. Patching is strictly for balance and bug fixing. The free patch was set to come out this month, but has been delayed until the summer, possibly in conjunction of the SF4PC release.
  7. I got my preimer ticket waiting on bittorrent.
  8. Just waiting. I get the flu every year around this time.
  9. Street Fighter brings everyone together. Even if your going to beat them with the shiittests character in the game.
  10. Where did da friggin palm strike come from anway?! I dont see that attack ranging from any shoto! GOuken sucks becuz he's a supposed shoto, he has no wakeup attack! I too go into whiff-mode when i see sumone jump at me... Normal and EX counters. Canon wise, he's up there with the strongest characters (the list is Gill, Oro-Gouki-Gouken (Tie, they all intentionally hold back their power), SFA Dictator). They intentionally made him awful because all SF fans know he's much stronger. Edit: Offer still stands for the MS points card. Unless someone wants to paypal me 21 bucks USD for it.
  11. There's been a ton of confusion circling about exactly how to unlock Akuma and Gouken (post updated--I failed to paste in the most obvious part for Akuma that everyone already knows--this is tricky yo!) While figuring this out can be a bit of a drag, part of me actually likes it--it's a lot like the old arcade days when we were first trying to figure out how to get Akuma in SSF2T, or even Reptile in MK ("I heard from this dude that you have to throw the rock on Chun Li's stage at Ryu", etc.) Judging by all the Akuma's I've been battling online, plenty of people are getting there without our help, and lots of credible, well-meaning sites have it partially correct (or have posted overly-difficult methods) but the time for confusion is over, so here are the full details on how to unlock them: To unlock Akuma as a playable character: 1. Unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Dan, Sakura, Rose, and Gen. 2. Pick a character you have already used to beat Arcade Mode. 3. Win all your matches without continuing and without losing any rounds before fighting with Seth. 4. You need to get at least one "perfect" win in a round, and more than one depending on how many rounds per match you are playing. - 1 round match: 1 perfect round or more - 3 round match: 2 perfect rounds or more - 5 round match: 3 perfect rounds or more - 7 round match: 4 perfect rounds or more (including the last battle against Seth) 5. If you meet these conditions, Akuma will appear. Defeat him to unlock Akuma as a selectable character. To unlock Gouken as a playable character: 1. Complete Arcade Mode playing as Akuma and watch (not necessary to watch everything) an ending. 2. Then, unlock Gouken as an opponent, and defeat him. Necessary conditions to unlock Gouken as an opponent: - Play with any characters with which you watched the ending once (so play using a character you have already beaten the game with) - Do not continue at all. - Do not lose at all. Not even one round (easier if you only play 1-round matches) - Achieve certain number (or more) of "Perfect" rounds. The number of Perfect Win you need to achieve are: If you play on - 1 round match: 1 time or more - 3 round match: 2 times or more - 5 round match: 3 times or more - 7 round match: 4 times or more - Achieve a certain number (or more) of Super Combo -OR- Ultra Combo Finishes. Super and Ultra finishes both count toward this number. The number of super/ultra finishes you need to achieve are: If you play on - 1 round match: 3 times or more - 3 round match: 5 times or more - 5 round match: 7 times or more - 7 round match: 9 times or more - Achieve certain number (or more) of First Attack (this means you must score the first strike in a match--the screen gives you the "First Attack" message, and you can mostly do this without even noticing): The number of First Attack you need to achieve are: If you play on - 1 round match: 5 times or more - 3 round match: 10 times or more - 5 round match: 15 times or more - 7 round match: 20 times or more - Then Gouken will appear. Kick his butt to unlock him!
  12. MP and HP Hadoken, depending on how deep their jumping in. You could also try a Close HP if you time it correctly.
  13. Too bad he's so good eh? Edit: Also, I have a US 1600 MS pts card, if anyone's willing to gimme a Canadian one, I'll gladly trade for it. I need one since US MS points don't work in Canada :/
  14. Same. I'll also confirm that you can unlock Gouken on Easiest, 1 Round, 30 Seconds. You can. Just have to get at least 2 perfects and at least 3 ultra finishes. I personally did it with 2 perfects and 4 ultra finishes and I fought him. Beating him unlocks him.
  15. Claw hasn't been godlike since Super Turbo. Even with Alpha 3 and CVS2, you need CC to win.
  16. The tried and tested method of getting Gouki and Gouken (and Seth); Gouki: Requires Sakura, Dan, Gen, Fei Long, Cammy and Rose already aquired. Get at least 1 Perfect, no continues on any difficulty. Gouken: Requires Sakura, Dan, Gen, Fei Long, Cammy, Rose and Gouki already aquired. Get at least 2 Perfects and 3 Ultras, no continues with any difficulty. Can be done in any order. Seth: Beat the game with everyone, including all hidden characters, on any difficulty, no continues. Also, anyone got a 1 month card their willing to part with?
  17. Didn't the company that makes the R4 go kaput?
  18. Whatever your preference is. Just get a fightpad if your not so sure what to choose. Because top of the line sticks are out of your price range since you aren't going the whole way. Both a EX2 and Fightstick SE are trash unless modified anyways. Easiest to Medium Mode/1 Round/Using Ryu's Jump In HK xx Shoryuken over and over and over and over and over and over. GGPO Seth right there.
  19. Using the much better 3 on 3-single elime battles and not the MAHVEL style switching anymore.
  20. That's what I said when I first played it, but it's grown all on it's own now into something else. It in fact, encompasses more gameplay mechanics then ST and 3s with all it's different variables. So honestly, saying it takes a step back in the gameplay department, means you haven't fully explored it's dept (which at this point in time, is pretty good considering it's been out for a 9-10 months already).
  21. It IS cheaper to render into 3D then make 2D sprites. The way SNK is doing is they make 3D models then DRAW over them. Meaning all the animation work will be already done frame by frame and they just draw over it. Even THAT saves money compared to the traditional 2D method of the past. + Commenting on how you could improve Third Strike. You technically can't anymore. It has such an even playing field now, and now, 10 years after it's release EVERYONE in the community knows what to do and how to do it. SF4 takes several things from Third Strike and just balance them out for a more Rush Down gameplay, similar to ST. It's going to take 4-5 years (maybe even less now that it's already out) to decode SF4's game to get to the point where we are at with Super Turbo and 3rd Strike. The way 3s is now, wasn't the way to play it 10 years ago. Blind as a bat. Both the arcade versions of XX and it's upgrades (#Reload, Slash and Accent Core) are arcade perfect ports. Crap animations and all. The slightest change in character frame data suddenly makes the game not arcade perfect anymore. Guilty Gear (and ArcSys fighting games in general) is notoriously known to have terrible animations. Just because it was done at a higher resolution, doesn't mean the animations are in the same caliber. SF3 series as a whole still holds the record as the most fluid 2D fighting game ever created. No one company has ever matched it (Remy has 41 frames of idle animation alone, compared to Millia Rage, who has something like 16 frames of idle animation).
  22. Choppy animation because it's in 3D? Please get a better argument. The only way Sprite work can look fluid is if it's done by hand. Just because a game like say Guilty Gear in 2D doesn't mean it's animations are smooth. It's has terrible animations.
