  1. Atomiswave is in no way related to the Neo-Geo, no matter what titles may appear on it or the fact that SNK Playmore is the one that uses the hardware the most.
  2. @Cinder, yeah, I double checked, the RAM was indeed EDO. I have fairly little use for that system nowadays, so I don't intend to upgrade it any longer. What's more, I did once try to update it's BIOS, but there were no updates anywhere. :/ That's what you get for getting a pre-built computer while you had no say over the hardware which was in it. EDIT: lol, I typed MD, when I should have typed MB. :/
  3. Hell, even enabling frame skipping on ePSXe can cause a serious amount of problems in quite a few games. A good measurement of how delicate the actual timers and the overall speed of the console really are.
  4. Well, I guess my old rig pretty much beats most comp here in the "Archaic" category: btw, it's a Fijitsu-Siements model To add insult to injury, I couldn't get any newer cards working on that system (Voodoo 2's, Riva TNTs, you name it) + No DirectX version past 5 would work in it, and putting in 6+ compromised the system.
  5. But I am. The emulator "fakes" these slow downs because it acts like the PSX. Then you can't do nothing about these slowdowns, as trying to tamper with the original fps results in the PSX's internal timer going haywire.
  6. Oh I can imagine that \o/
  7. No, you can't overclock it. The only way to make it faster on the emulator is to remove the fps limit (not very playable after that), or tweaking the plugins. Most of the slowdown happens because of the Framebuffer effects. However, unless you keep the FB effects as high as possible, you don't get all the possible effects. Also, if you get slowdowns, the fps is not a constant 60.

  9. AFAIK, the power bars are transparent, and the transparencies are handled by the custom BIOS. I have Nebula transparency tables to correct this shortcoming.
  10. Voice acting in Nippon Ichi games? I think the voices are superb. I was talking about Magna Carta: Tears of Blood... It's Xenosaga Episode II bad... Xenosaga II had bad voice acting? Hardly. I haven't played Magna carta yet, but judging by the gameplay videos I've seen, the voices are indeed a bit ehhhh. I have no problem with N1's games being the same in general. There's enough individual changes for my tastes and I like the storylines.
  11. Although I'm not much a rally sports fan, this is sad news. He died from a brain tumor friday night. RIP. http://www.richardburns.com/
  12. Apparently there was a problem with the compiling and the binary was dated 11/09/2005. Ipher was kind enough to point this out and fix the mistake.
  13. Let's see now... We've had to deal with Jack Thompson, the DMCA, record companies, DRM schemes, the analog hole bill, the RIAA, the MPAA, and now the TCPA (albeit the TCPA is old)... They honestly won't stop at nothing while lobbying their own interests.
  14. Voice acting in Nippon Ichi games? I think the voices are superb.
  15. Yeah, I've seen those too. Razoola's work probably.
  16. Somebody obviously had played too much Breath of Fire IV to come up with that name.
  17. That's not entirely true... there are neo CD conversions of some MVS titles (Ghostlop, Pnyaa, Zupapa, etc) but they're definitely smaller titles, and usually are missing some sounds. Oh really? I didn't know that. Is there even a market for Neo-Geo CD titles anymore, or is it just a warzone for arcade/AES collectors?
  18. The credits are useless. Perhaps they would be more useful if members could actually buy useful stuff. And no, I don't mean useful for the attack system, but rather something for you to customize your account. I'm filthy flocking rich with nothing to spend my wealth on. Beat that.
  19. What I was going to say. Besides, damulta was talking about the PSX (Playstation) and not about the PS2 (Playstation 2), and suddenly he switched it. What the hell is up with that? Furthermore, even with that neoCD for the PS2, he wouldn't be able to play the newest games. Actually, no post-1998 games have CD versions anyway.
  20. Noooo, not Pat Morita. TV runs a Karate Kid marathon just now... I wish people wouldn't die. RIP, Pat Morita.
  21. No, there are no Neo-Geo emulators for the Playstation, only ports.
  22. They just did, for some reason. Hm? Care to elaborate? Oh, and fix your quotes.
  23. Yeah, but these are EGCG Teams hacks, not the official builds. James: YES, WE KNOW.
  24. Yeah, Diggerman is one of those oddities. Well, NEX runs pretty much any Neo-Geo game except Samurai Shodown V Special, SvC Chaos, KOF2003, non-proto Garou which works in EGCG, and Metal Slug 5 (although I'm not 100% sure of that). Of course, hacks might not work as well.
  25. Disgaea 2 is slated for sometime next year. Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom and La Pucelle Tactics are separate titles. I really should go out and get Makai Kingdom, seeing as I already have the other games... which I haven't even finished yet. Just owning a game from Nippon Ichi makes you feel warm inside.
