  1. Well, I saw the announcement for it a few days ago, who knows when it was announced, I didn't really check. But a couple of days ago I got to see the trailer. Bionic Commando ..... Finally So yea, It seems like the guy in charge really cares about the game, he says he has to be one of the biggest fans in the world. It looks like it could be a solid game. But, Is it actually gonna do justice to one of the coolest titles way back when? You can finally actually grab a guy with the arm.... And I see a few strategies used, but will they nail this one? They mentioned some hybrid mechanic for how the arm actually acquires its target. Who knows how it will work, I can't tell by the video, but It did look fun. I just hope they have a good solid game when it's shipped. I hate rush jobs. But it IS Capcom... so.... I can't really think of any bad games from them. So... am I the only fan boy for Bionic Commando? Am I alone? What do you guys think? Looking forward to it?? I sure as hell am.
  2. I posted a thread about great games that are alittle dated, and I started to think about my Deus Ex. I looked and looked and couldn't find it ANYWHERE. So I said to hell with buying another one. (which it looks like I may do) so I got a-hold of an ISO. So usually I can install directly from the ISO once its unzipped. Never tried it zipped, I'm new to this. But it wont install because it cant find the OpenGlDvr.dll. But then I notice an icon that looks like the one that starts the game. So I hit it and it asks me all the first start questions, then says it can't find the extension.dll. So with my limited knowledge, I fathom the game dosen't know where all the things necessary to run are located. Id sure love to write one, but I don't know how or what exactly it would need to use or what order to do it in or what it's supposed to look like when I'm done. I looked and can't find a template, (I don't really think someone would post an extensions file for Deus Ex) perhaps I'll look again, but secondly, I don't even know if this is the way I should go. It was hard for me to find this game as it is, 'cause I'm new, and Id hate to download and download more and more, just to find one that works right off the bat, that is if I even find one. So if it can't find the extensions.dll, is writing one viable, and if so, can I find one in text form and just alter it to fit my pc? Or am I just silly. Heh, Looks like I may just say to hell with it and hopefully come across it at GameStop or something one day. OR... somehow find my copy..... Where the hell could it have gone???? It's probably in a chaotic dimension on top of a mountain made of all my missing socks.
  3. Alright. Sorry I didn't get back to you as soon as I said I would. I couldn't edit my file, it was read only. Zone Alarm and all. OK. I spoke to my Mom and a few people.... Here goes.... My Mom thought the symptoms sounded familiar, and looked into it for me. Later that day, She told me about a condition she researched. I don't know, your symptoms seem to be similar to this affliction. Found on Healthline.com. under the searching prefix "Smell disorder" Unfortunately, full checkups are not likely covered by typical health insurance, at least not fully. Secondly, I hope to hell you didn't contract some kinda disease. Now, this is what I could find on the net about it. BUT... I have further insight. Just the other night, My buddy was over, and I was showing him the new Bionic Commando Trailer. He was playing around with my can of Dust Remover. This stuff has a bittering agent to help discourage inhalant abuse. He held the crap upside down sprayed just alittle, talking about freezing a penny. That bastard contaminated the room with this bitter taste. My girlfriend was first affected, she kept on talking crap. <--(auto edit?) I told her he was sorry, as he kept saying over and over, and to just drop it. Well wouldn't you know it, next thing you know I tasted it too. It was horrible, and to top it off, like 10 min later, We went outside to have a smoke, and I still tasted it OVER my cigarette! It was VERY potent, very bitter. And mind you he only sprayed a tiny amount, that wasn't directed directly at me. (but at my girlfriend) I instantly thought of you. I thought it was ironic. I don't think it's a stretch at all to think this may be a pesticide or whatever kind of chemical, that farms often use. But perhaps something else is going on too. Like, are you taking any medication? Or were you sick when this happened? Because I had Pneumonia or bronchitis for a few months, and for the longest time, I smelled this stale as hell odor that never ceased till well after my sickness left me. Oh... it was quite annoying, so I can imagine that, plus the propane (earlier comment) and the bittering agent combined, all together, would be maddening! Whatever the case, I'd make a decision soon. If it is some crazy chemical that has contaminated you, Perhaps somehow, purge it??? Like some nasty herbal tea and lots of vegetables and fruits. Drink alot of water and NO SODA! And if that doesn't work... I don't know, squirt vinegar up your nose so far it goes down your throat and blow it out as hard as you can. Then stuff your nostrils with pop rocks and hit your nose with a mallet. (remove paper and rocky bits) Then Snort powered salt and chew on some garlic. Oh, BTW... I AM NOT A DOCTOR!!!! I think Gryph should know better that I. So yea, I'd eat the costs and go to a doctor, from how you described it, this is crazy ass ((CRAP))
  4. Back in 85. right before NES, I would borrow my Uncles Atari, When that happened, my Mom would give me a 30 min time limit. Then NES came out. One night at dinner, I asked if they wanted to do something. A strange question, Unprecedented from there 7 year old son. They asked what. I asked if we could pick up the NES, And they agreed, with no argument. I was so surprised!!! Once I had the NES she never gave me a time limit, and like someone stated earlier, there wasn't real mature games & I got good grades and all so restrictions were never necessary. To tell you the truth, I play more games now than I ever did growing up. I would definitely keep my children in check with the gaming. Although I don't want to shelter my children (none yet) I agree with L.S.D. And yea, we all agree games have improved certain attributes. Hell, I can macro-manage like no-body business (RTS) and I damn sure know how to secure a location (FPS) and all the games combined have boosted my coordination. Not to mention the critical thinking skills certain games nourish. All this B.S. about games corrupting our youth is just that.... B.S. You never seen me finish someone like SubZero..... It's all about the personal needs of each individual. Some parents are screwed up and there kids come out fine. Some parents seem ok, but they pay no attention to there kids, and they sometimes turn out doing something unthinkable. We are all unique, and so, each handle certain things differently. It's up to us to guide our children toward the right path, and show them what you are made of. They are sponges, absorbing everything around them. They are going to make there own decisions no matter what you think you can do. So the only thing you CAN do is live through example. Sorry.... I always seem to talk to much, even in text.
  5. WHAAAAAT!?!? O.K. Obviously this isn't normal, but damn, this is EXTRA-UN-ordinary, thats right... I had to make up a new word to describe this..... I grew up near a small farmland, Here in Florida. My best friend had chickens, not so many, but still. Yes, chickens CAN smell, but not that bad. Not even if you have 100's and never let them out and they kinda root in there own crap. I'll ask my mom, she is into alternative medicines, she will have a few ideas, but honestly, I think there was a chemical or something involved, as you suggested, that might have been possible. You see, even when something dies, and rots like hell, it's still natural, organic matter. Even considering hormones and such, as to be expected with farm animals. My point with that is these things naturally fade, there organic, your body processes massive amounts of organic ...... look, it should have faded a looooooong time ago. I used to fill Propane, I'm a certified handler still. They put a chemical in propane so you can smell it, you see, naturally it is odorless. To fill a tank, you have to hook it up to the valve, and open a bleeder valve, so the vapor can expel while you fill it with the liquid gas. then of course you fill the tank. And yea you smell it. But sometimes someone would bring in a tank, and it's really old, but still has the OPD valve.... nevermind that... but the tank has sat there for a long time and the contents have ... well I don't know... fermented or rotted or something. Point is when I filled tanks that were old, the smell is REALY bad. I always said it stuck to my nose hairs because I would smell it for a few min. Point is this was a unatural chemical that produced this effect. But you .......... Dude your taste buds acted first. Almost sounds like chemical warfare..... And you smell it, just as strongly, when you touch the tip of your nose!!!!!! AND you even put crap up there to clean it out...... It damn sure does sound like some chemical. This is nooooo good man, as you can tell. Sounds like your nose needs to soft-reset. ok ok, no stupid jokes. You need to purge this out, and I will have some suggestions within 18 hours. But I don't know man, the smelling of this for so long is real bad.... by itself. The fact that your taste buds reacted as they did worries me more. So there. All I can say for now is that it is a chemical agent. Unless of course you are allergic to something you never knew about.... I know this really doesn't help, but I'll report back with some advice.....
  6. Excellent, I'll check those out and see. and yea, more mech games, awesome.
  7. Damn straight, I second the notion. Pick 'em off with a arm mounted crossbow and a trank dart from the shadows, Bypass the security measures. I still can't get over the story. Hell, I named my computer Daedalus. O MAN!!!!! I just remembered a quote from that game. it was ... " VersaLife, we make tomorrow look like yesterday " I can't believe I misplaced that game. Grrrrrr
  8. Wizards_&_Warriors_2_Ironsword_Sword_Foundry_OC_ReMix.mp3 oh, it just changed Donkey_Kong_Country_BeneaththeSurface_OC_ReMix.mp3
  9. Let me pick your brains, Time frame, a couple years after DoomII. I guess. There was this Diablo-esque dungeon crawler. While looking through everyones submissions, I found a game on a site called Ancient Evil, I thought that was it, BUT IT"S NOT! Stay away from Ancient evil. I BLOOOOOOOOOWS! but that was the only thing that looked similar. When I'm done here, ( 1EMULATION ) Is my first stop when I get home. I'm going to look for it because it is bothering me. Perhaps I'll find it, perhaps not. I don't remember much about the game, I didn't play much of it at all. But I always wanted to give it a decent try. If I find out what it is, Ill tell ya, and If it is indeed good, I'll submit it. The only thing I can remember fully about it, was you were literally naked if you unequipped all your gear. Yea, thats not alot to go on, but that alone seems kinda exclusive. Alright, So yea, stay away from Ancient Evil.
  10. O-yea, I remember the first wow factor I had. Played a ton of nes games. then I finally got a Sega. Sonic the Hedgehog came with the console. Sonic ran back and fourth " SEGA " I was like what??? The scrolling background at the title screen is the moment I remember being blown away. I went from 8 bit dreadfulness, to vibrant colors, it was amazing. I still get excited about games, I really do, it's crazy, but I know what to expect, better graphics, better everything, controls and A.I. - & so on. I had no idea what I was in for way back when. I saw the pics in magazines, but nothing ever compares to seeing it in motion, right before your eyes. Yea I had alot of moments. But another sticks out ... the first time I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!
  11. True True ... but who could actually forget Doom. Hell, I used to use the Doom II editor, those were the days. But thanks for the lookout.
  12. Dimmu Borgir - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Ya know, the vocals take some overlooking, the main guy can be so annoying, But damn ... they totally kick ass.
  13. I have to thank everyone for the contribution!! Just what I needed.... Some very excellent titles. Some look really fun, It's a shame I didn't get a chance to play them when they were the new hotness. There was one vintage game not mentioned that I liked, and that would be Daggerfall. Yea it's an eyesore, but it was good fun. Alright. Good work everyone, now I have alot of games to research. If there is anything else anyone can think of, keep 'em coming. O yea, I never got to check out the Thief games, they're made by the same guy who did Deus Ex, and that game is bad ass.
  14. ..... I just did a search on Tyrian. Woah. The name wasn't familiar at all. Then I saw this. Dosgamesarchive.com I made connections with brain cells that haven't been used in ages. That game was indeed great. Then I started to remember using the Doom II level editor. What was that thing called? Then I remembered another game.... DESCENT!!!! Dosgamesarchive.com Remember that one? What about Terminal Velocity? Ohh but it sucked... NM. Then I remembered Cobalt. It was kinda like Nam 1975, only worse. It's all coming back. The good 'ole days P.S. These games are shareware. But damn it... Descent plays at like 400% speed. Soon as an enemy sees me I'm blasted a few times. ARGH! Oh .... L.S.D. .... Where not old yet...just the games we played. Better remember that.
  15. Well yea, sounds bad ass!! I'm all excited. It's better than Christmas......
  16. Apogee..... Thats a name I haven't heard in quite some time.... Broken Sword, I think I played the GB version. Isn't that a point and click adventure similar to space quest games?? Heh this is great.... so many to research! And yea Thanks again everyone!!!!
  17. Fantastic!!! Thats what I'm talking about. I have forgotten so many titles. I have some that were mentioned. But ALOT slipped through the cracks for me. WHAAAAT... Rise of the Triad!!! I forgot all about that. Look at Gryph with the list! Shogo??? thats a new one to me, Disoblige also mentioned that. I'll have to check that first. And wow, Full Throttle..... I remember that one. Don't think I ever played Tie fighters. Alot of these I either played or saw one way or another, And now I have a list of great titles. Thanks for all the input.
  18. Yea I have All the space quest games Hehehe.. Good call
  19. Well it has a good story, you should give it a try, but yea, what are some recommendations?
  20. I will be building a new computer. But since I have used such old computers as of late, I have been forced to play older games. Turns out there are tons of old games that are great. One of my favorite games is Master of Orion II. I also play Mech Warrior 4 Mercenaries & Deus Ex. See, Even though I'll be getting a powerful computer, I will not neglect the older titles, they have been good to me. I have picked up Star Trek A Final Unity. But I cannot get it working yet. They say use Dos Box, But I still cannot get it to work. Hell, I cant figure out Dos Box. But thats fine, I'll do more reading I guess, and get it going. My recommendations: Unreal Tournament Deus Ex Master of Orion II Mech Warrior 4: Mercenaries Mech Warrior 3 Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Commandos Damn..... I can't find my Deus Ex....... So perhaps you could enlighten me on something I missed. What are your favorite games, or just games you liked in general. Anything you can think of will be great, I'll check them out and see whats up.
  21. That IS good to hear. Like Reaper Man said, Our Arcades are dying too. I'm in central Florida. Its practically a Metropolis, If i go in any direction, there is more and more city. For real, there is something to do for everyone. So there are PLENTY of people around. So, when I was younger, there was a place called Fun Machine. It did ok, but they changed location years later, about 5 miles down the road. Then they up and vanished. There was also another place called Fun Spot. It is no longer there. Although I see commercials for it on TV, it is no longer local to me. But that place has Go Cart tracks and 3/4 Of ticket games. Reminds me of a carnival.... Altamonte Mall had two arcades. One big one little... both gone. They all died. So many times we would go, to whichever one, and they would be dead. If you wanted completion, you had to bring someone. It was sad. BUT... one place survived. A gem. Its called Rockies Replay. I just went and looked for a website right now, but they don't have one. Thats kinda stupid. But in my search, I just now found out they are gonna be forced out, due to dominion laws, because they are widening SR 436, the road it is on. which is crazy, its already 4 lanes both ways. We have major traffic over here! Wow... I'm sad now. I found that place when I was in 8th grade. It was new and there was no one there. They had like 3 Tekken 2 machines and a slew of other games. It flourished since then. They have always had the best of games. They have a couple of Tekken 5, Soul Calibur, SF III, Marvel VS Capcom 2, a few others I cant recall, A bunch of newer racing games that are connected, Some Jetski racing game, Sniper Games, Pinball, Some arcade classic game- it has like 50 games on it. Mega Collection I think it's called. Some Fighter jet game from Sega I believe. DDR and some other rhythm games, I could go on and on, So just believe me, they got games on games. They are always cycling the games though for ones people would play. They used to have 2 F-Zero's linked, too bad they're gone. Hell, that was where I played Kabuki Clash. They would sacrifice games for more popular ones, but that is ok. The place survived for 14+ years. They have Beer and hot dogs, hot dogs that are .50 cents!!!! And ash trays bolted to each machine. AN ARCADE WHERE I CAN GET A DRINK, EAT A FEW HOT DOGS, AND SMOKE!!!!! Just as you said about Playtime, There are people of all ages. Older ones playinf pinball and even Tekken. Younger ones palying DDR and such. But let me tell you, PLENTY of girls & women. When I mention girls, I mean the kind you can date. With the smoking and such, you don't see too many youngsters. Ski hockey, Shooting games, fighting games, driving games, the place has it all. So, I hope they find a location where they can get a bigger place. The location was great, I hope they survive though. If they die too..... Id be sad. That and I have like 7$ in token still. Oh man. They better make it.
  22. Well, its my turn. I'm 29 so I was prime age when NES came out. I was hooked on my uncle's ATARI before that. Hell, my mom had a 30 min time limit for me when I played. Now, I logg more time on games than I do work. But I still try to stay active, (still gaining weight ) Lets see, I was Six ... 23 years of gaming. I've seen it all. Years back I stumbled on Emulators, and I didn't even know they existed. Then my computer busted and I didn't replaced it. Just got another one (it's old too, 2002 HP) but it does what I need, for now. I'm gonna build a new one for UTIII, and when that happens, I'll get the Emulators that require a better setup, I.E. anything that uses ISO's and such. So I just got back into all of this, I am amazed to find so many translated games that never came out in the states, three years back, I could only find one or two. Currently I'm playing ZSNES and hammering out some RPG's, AND SUPER METROID REDESIGN!!!!!! Which, by the way, is great! So other than that I'm using GENS, NRX, and a Jnes. I like all games except sports, although from time to time I'll play Madden. My favorite though is FPS and then RPG's second. I live just outside of Orlando Florida. I'm an artist, that hasn't been practicing. I'd like to be on the art end of the gaming world, so I better get on it. When I get UTIII, I'll spend ALOT of time designing stages and such, and that, my friends, will eat my time up. I got a girl that plays as much as I do, so I'm real happy about that. ( She beats all my scores at Guitar Hero ) And I love Cheesecake! I found this site on my birthday a week ago, I think I was trying to figure out Saturn Emulators, And I couldn't help but notice how great this site was. So I joined without hesitation. Although this is my first Forum experience, I've done my share of reading, and there is too much crap out there. So I'm happy I found this place. So Id like to take this time and thank EVERYONE who contributes to such an Excellent site. I personally appreciate it, perhaps more that you know. It's A fine community, that I hope I can contribute to it as well. So I will absorb as much as I can. Hopefully I will be a help. Thanks again.
  23. Hey, My computer is CRAP! I will be building a new one from scratch, and, well... I am Noobed out. I am currently absorbing & learning as much information as I can about this. My friends are a great help, BUT, what do you guys think. Dreamcast Lover is absolutely right. You need 60+ FPS... But my pocket isn't so deep. And as far as this goes, I dislike compromise... But i might have to. "2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor" is inconceivable in terms of price. And "2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor" is cheap as hell. I want to run this monster like it deserves. I have a 32" Wide Screen 720p and 1080i as my monitor. Its 1600:1. I'm not complaining, I love this thing. It's called an Olevia, and it cost me $560 after tax at Circuit City. Thing is, I don't want to turn settings down when I get it. I want to turn them levers UP UP UP! And If it isn't great, It'll stick out like a sore thumb on this screen. What to do what to do. I gotta find a balance. Say I go with ATI stuff, they seem to be more moderately priced. And obviously, like branded things are a must. Least hickups or whatever. Do you think ill find a good medium? If not, what the hell do you think I should look for. Id hate to spend over 600 dollars, But I think Ill have to. Mother board seems to be my biggest concern. V-card, whatever, Ram, who cares, these will be fine, they are not so bad on my pocket, but how can I hammer out this motherboard issue! Any input would be beneficial.
  24. Well, there is a mode that differs from previous UT games. Its more like an Unreal game, as opposed to the tournament style. From what I can tell, there will be multiple choices that affect the game later on. Like stealing a technology will unveil a new vehicle that isn't normally available. And if you screw with a particular faction, they will become vindictive later on. So there will be some depth to the single player modes. But I do not know the extent of the new modes, there are others that are still secret. As the End stated, He played a lot offline, the previous games AI are pretty good, so this new installment will undoubtedly be better. Unreal games have always preformed well in all areas. Hell, I still play UT. Its dated, ugly, but is still damn fun, even to this day. There are so many servers still up, although about 15-30 at a time running when I'm home. But my point is there are still fan boys of the old school, and for good reason. This game is focused on multiplayer, As in there will be others on your side, as to specific game modes, I am unclear. BUT, If that isn't your thing, perhaps this isn't your game. But personally, I love FPS. Out of all types, this is my strongest. I usually start out mediocre, It takes me awhile to ........ Format myself to the mechanics & physics of a particular game. and the Dreamcast Lover wasn't lying, this is a fast paced game!!! I like being able to out maneuver someones attack. Dodging back and fourth, Circle strafing, Double jumping to a wall and backflipping off it behind my opponent. I might as well be in the Matrix. UNLIKE IN HALO!!! I despise halo, it's like your playing on the moon. The known game modes are amazing. There is plenty to choose from. Onslaught was ...... too good. I cannot emphasize how fantastic this game will be, but all in all, it's still an opinion. Gears of War was great, but it's a different monster. Unreal Tournament III-this is what I am dreaming of. Oops, I said so much, but didn't say much at all. Sorry..... I guess I'm too excited!!!
