  1. Tried the patch, since i tossed my NRX not sure what it fixed lol... The consol text, and striker text are still funky... Thanks a lot though, guess i'll play it like this ; ; But... can anyone give me any insight on why my Kawaks version doesn't work? I have the same exact Rom and Emu (bios too) as k'dash, and still nothing ;(

  3. Here is the thing... It's the RIGHT rom, and the RIGHT Emulator? I got both of them from K'Dash, and they both seem to work fine on his computer... (poor k'dash had to listen to me biatch for hours about how they won't work ; I tested the zip, and it's fine... alll the.rom names are correct aswell

(this is not a rom request) So i have this (kof2000.zip), and Kawaks 1.46 with loader (i've tried the same with other kawaks, same results)... and the correct bios (with the files kawaks requires to play kof2k, i've tried with other bios, same result) ... and for some darn reason, the game always crashes! It shows up on the list alright. Right name, right titles and everything. It loads perfectly too. But, when it reaches the decrypting gfx part... It crashes! Always with kawaks 1.43-1.49 (some versions with hacks). Others games load great, including kof94-03. Except kof2000... I've tried this on mame aswell, it loads, but the GFX crash. (other games load on it aswell) So i'm wondering, what is hell is wrong...
  5. Kof2000... I can't get it to work anymore... I use to have a working version, but i can't seem to find it anymore... Worse yet, the request sections is gone from this site o_O SO can anyone give me any tips on getting this rom to work? The only version i can seem to download is the one at Rom Hustler. BUt that won't work on any Kawaks/fba.... I tried renaming the files, i got the game to show up on the list, and even got it to load most of the files.. but either the graphics are currupt or it won't load them at all (causing a kawaks crash) Can anyone help me out?

  7. I actually got to Jeuno with my Lv1 character with the help of an escort ^-^ What the hell man? These kind of RPGs... THIS is were you find all the noobs, all the morons, and everyone who just wants to be tough... hidding behind there computer =/ I dunno about you, but $16 doesn't sound like much to me... Been playing FFxI since the release, and it has yet to become boring to me... My highest character is a Lv50 Red Mage (with a Lv25 White Mage, Black Mage or Summoner Subjob) and though i'm dropped over 35 hours of playtime into the game.. I'm STILL not considered to be a High Lv character, the game is far too expansive... new updates and areas are being discovered all the time... Maybe the problem is.. you haven't found a Online RPG worth paying for
  8. Well, if you playing crappy beta, or easy to hack games... sure it's gonna blow big time... Just find a well organized Online RPG with Good GMs, good server status, updates and a well educated community and i'm sure you won't mind paying a couple of bucks a month... (not saying there aren't jerks on ffo, there are believe me... but the nice people make this game fun )
  9. I play Final Fantasy XI, and i hardly think paying $16 ( I have a mule in every major city... Even managed to get a Lv1 character to Jeuno =P) Is a waste...I love the game... And to how ever said, you only pay to be PK'd and talk to moron, then i'm sure you havent' played this game... Pk'n usually happens on free beta RPGs, where little 10 years old kids (no offense to anyone thats 10 ^^)have acces to them... When you get a credit card involved however, there is less of a chance that some idiot ass hole with nothing to lose doesn't screw up your playing experience
  10. Sounds lame... the new backgrounds do nothing for me... 'cause in my opinion 2d and 3d don't mix... SOO basicly... just the same old crap with 3d backgrounds?
  11. That's true, and sucks mad-balls!! This KOF doesn't even look half as good as say Street Fighter III. No actually Kof looks better than SFIII, it's jst that SFIII has a higher frame rate making things look a little "shitake i dont know, nicer?" If kof had a higher frame rate like SFIII, clearity like GG and music matching the background with good sound affects like SS4, then that would be the sizzle for shizzle. It's not really fair to compare them... Street Fighters sprites animation has always been more anime'sh then SNKs. Before, SNK could use the excuse "We are using 14 year old hardware... We can't make the animation any better!" (thought they did, for certain characters) Now they are using a much more powerful engine, and there is really no excuse to STILL, after 14 years be using some of the same damn sprites that were in the original kof94.... I'm willing to bet that this game... like so many other kofs, won't have any new combo system, nothing original for power ups, and the bosses will still be overpowered and cheap.... instead of having a good AI
  12. It's not the "rehash" that make me angry in SNKs case... it's the fact, that in 03... most of the characters, don't even look like they belong on the same screen! Kim VS Kusagani... Ash VS Ryo... etc, etc, etc! It's not only the sprites animation, the effect animation aswell... Thats what makes me angry.... ALSO - The publisher of KOF can't even keep there updates straight... For example, K' animation got some serious inhancements in 02... but in 03 they were taken away and replaced with older ones =/

  14. I hope so too... I love kof (though it might not seem like it ^^) When i play a game though.. i like to see everything fit and and flow perfect. I haven't seen that in KOF is so long... Btw, i do like SNK a lot... it brought great games like Art of fighting, Fatal Fury, Last Blade, Metal Slug, Garou... and many more =) and to still be using the same 14 year old hardware... thats just amazing...
  15. (it's getting late, so i'll just say one thing) I guess, the last thing i'm gonna say about this.... If your gonna do something, do it right. I do believe CVS 1&2 did a serious face lift on SNK... I couldn't remember the last time I had so much fun playing with Art of fighting, fatal fury or kof characters... Probably because since 98, the game has grown stale and repetitive, atleast to me... and... to get back on topic... The king of fighters 2003 really pissed me off... One, because the only new things about it (tag-team), was pointless... it couldn't really save your character like it did in capcoms VS games. Some of the character updates, in my opinion, where horrible... Yuri got completely screwed... she lost everything i liked about her. K' became really limited, i was no longer able to pull the damage i was once able to. The graphics were horrible... nothing looked right, or in place. Bosses were cheap and overpowered (as they are every year)

Sure, they don't re-do any of the sprites they just re-add whatever new animation they need... but thats only because they don't have to... all the characters, old or new in series all look like they belong in the same game... even the characters that were created in the 3rd installment. So, capcom just added whatever new animation to existing characters (such as ryu), and kept the level of detail from newer characters the same as older ones... and atleast capcom updates little things.. such as fireball effects... a lot of the kof effects haven't changed much at all =/ Example: The new Capcom Fighting Jam game. SNK DOES update their sprites even if it's older, It's still an update. They do add new animations and such. Just because I stated that Capcom does take sprites from older games and just sticks them in. You missed my statment completely. For 1, would you really think that capcom would use sprites from 1991 and 1989?? No, they redrew them to keep the game in the same art style. With kof, the style has been the same for 10 FRIKING YEARS. You think a majority of the players would notice if the spirte was from 95? No. As for effects, please take into considering that KOF was made on 14 year old hardware. As i was talking about the effects, i wasn't asking for 3d high res effects... I just simply meant, if K' can have really nice looking flame effects on his attacks... whyd does kyo have to be using the sames ones from 96 in his attacks? It's just stupid to have athena in 03 using the same pink fireball she has been using forever, but at the same time have the newly edited robert using a fresh new fireball.

  18. Hard work? They are just re-publishing the same game over and over again... they make changes, but then they are undone (strikers, max mode... power/def mode)... I... i once heard someone post in a forum... kof95 is the best damn kof there is... at the time, 2000 had just been emulated... and i remember thinking... "that guy is stupid." but now, looking how far kof has come... i realize he might be right... Atleast in kof95, all the characters looked like they belonged on the same screen... There was no over detailed, or under detailed characters... the backgrounds matched with the characters. the music was nice and provided a good theme for team team... and the system didn't allow some characters to be able to overpower others...

Capcom doesn't re-draw animation for the same character on a completely different level.... and them just resizing the animation, i didn't know that... but honestly, garou looked nothing like kof... how can the publishers just throw something together like that? not only is it incredibly lazy, but it's sad... i've seen mugen programers make far better characters working from stratch... EDIT - and capcom isn't using the same animation from the first SS for the new ones...
  20. Those aren't new to KOF2003, those were in KOF2002. But I agree with the rest of your post. ^^ just so you know... they DID add some new animation for Kim... some of his kicks... Which btw, aren't up the the Level of his stance resolution....
  21. I agreee with you here. It seems that people want the same thing over and over again with better graphics and when the developers finally have the balls to drastically change something, the "hardcore" fans start to biatch. I'm not saying anything about the changes... I like the Tag-team system... some of the new music and character designs are good too... Here are some of the problems i saw with kof2k3 which just made me think.... how can they be so damn lazy? First of all... the new sprites they did, with the exception of Ash, were all horribly done... they had really low frame rate... poor yuri got screwed really bad.. and terry omg... his new sprites are ugly, and really rough... he doesn't even look like he belongs in the game.... and kim... one moment your standing or kicking and his sprites look incredible... next your moving and your back in 94... Kyo and Iori too... they are still Using most of there 94 sprites... just re-edited to look smoother or different (in kyos case). The thing that i don't understand.. There are more examples of this... like Yamakazi's delayed stance... i'm sure most of you have noticed these sudden enhances in animation on some character sprites. The thing i don't understand is... why won't the publishers of this game take more time into, remaking the sprites on older characters, instead of just re-editing them... this isn't the first year where they have made new characters on a totaly different sprite lv... This started way back in 96 and 97... compare Mary, yamakazi, k, or any character made after 96 to any character made before 96... you will noticed a big change in graphic detail, frame rate and over all quality...
  22. King of Fighters 2003... I was pissed when it came out... Such hype before the release, i was soo excited to play it... only to find it it's possibly the worset Kof game ever =/.... hehe... i got to hand it to SNK, Playmore (whatever)... It's the only gaming CO i've seen... were another company can takes their characters.. and make a better game with them =)
  23. "Man with the machine gun" from FFVIII was pretty wicked Also, the whole FFVI piano remix by Nobuo was incredible aswell.. But, i gotta say, my favorite song would have to be "Spark and Shadow" from the Rockman X Album by Alph Lyra (lyla, whatever)... the hole album was fantastic... but that song... was... wow...
  24. Because MoTw and Kof are two different games... IF the characters from Motw played the way they do against Kof characters... Kof would loose big time.. Motw moves would be overpowered and too damn flashy =) They had to tone Gato down so we wouldn't dominate everyone ^^;...
  25. It is!!! Anyways, i download that new neogeo.zip file so i could play with the boss characters... But for some reason, after i put that bios.. and i try to change kof2k3's settings.. it failes the audit and i can't play it anymore o.O
