So today i got a letter back from this scholarship i had applied to. Only 100 people are allowed to apply and it is invite only. It was for a dull ride up to and including a doctorate. It was an amazing chance. I did not get it. I am kinda sad in that it would have been an amazing win, but at the same time, it was to a university that i wasnt really thrilled to go to (although it is still an amazing institution). This has cemented in my decision to attend the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign in the fall as opposed to Purdue University. Chemical engineering is going to be fun...

I was cruising around the internet the other day when i went to check on Oblivion. Once there i was shocked to discover: Check it here I was a huge fan of Morrowind and its expansions. But after playing Oblivion, i was not that impressed. I hope that the expansion will offer some redeeming qualities (Morrowind is better then Oblivion, but Oblivion is still a good game to play). I looked at the screenshots and the news and it looks pretty good.

Ubuntu isnt that hard to learn. There is alot of support on it online and everything has some instructions to installing somewhere. It was the first distro i went into and i liked it. Its like windows (with the some of the menus and commands) but it is alot better...

but in the short run (i.e. about the next 6-8 months) will not having dx10 really mean anything? I mean the new games coming out that are dx10 games also support dx9 ...

Microsoft is continuing support for the time being...a SP 3 is scheduled (god knows when it will be released...is over due by about 3 years now...) Also, cant you get DX10 as a SDK version? I know you an do that for all the other versions and get around windows...

in chicago...there have been 7 days with temperatures below 0F not counting wind chill...

so this week is the last week of naruto. if you havent been watching, i highly suggest this last filler arc. it has gaara in it and it is really good (it has a plot and is trying to set the stage for the time skip). it is also a good warm up for the new Naruto that starts next week.

So...you know that you are doing well in a class when you can take a test, fail it, and then go in a second time to an easier test and still fail it. Not to mention the next day failing a test that depended on the one before it... My physics teacher has decided to stop grading out tests because the class average was below a 60%...Oh Yeah...we are that smart...
