Hardly. It boils down to how good the inputs have been programmed.

The Playstation pad's digital pad is excellent for fighting games.

Oh well, I never like PS or PS2 controller.

DC for me!! And XBox has done right by copying DC's controller :banghead:

cant really choose between the 2 because each were great systems. dreamcast could have been so much better if it would have had the stateside support.

The DC pad is perfect for Soulcal, piss poor for most 2D fighting games. On the other hand, the PS pad is very good for things like racing games, and a little bit better for *some* fighting games, but... if a pad doesn't have six face buttons, it's never going to be good enough for 2D fighters - which is why we have third-party pads (for instance, you can find new-in-box Stormchasers for around $10 at many stores).

Anyway, if you like arcade sticks, there are many good options for both systems. I don't think you can really compare the two systems based on their default controllers... you can, however, compare the support given for different control-systems like wheels, flight-sticks, etc. DC has the Virtual On dual-sticks (which no-one has, come on, admit it) whereas PS2 has many driving games, more gun-shooters, etc. I don't think the keyboard titles deserve too much mention except that you can use that PS2-with-embedded-keyboard pad on your pc with an adapter, which is kinda cool.

Oh yeah, the Virtual On dual-sticks is really awesome!!! Just like the arcade. Speaking of which, the XBox's Tekki controller is another awesome, uncomparable controller.

This is an incredibly easy answer for me

Dreamcast

I personally think Playstation was a horrible crap stupid console that should have never been released

There where like 2 million games and only 20-30 of them i though where worth playing, maybe not even that much. I never liked playstation.

Playstation 2 on teh other hand is really sweet

It's funny, cause in retrospect the graphics on the psx was crap, but playing the awesome games (MGS, FFVII/VIII, Ridge Racer Revolution, Wipeout, etc...) you just didn't notice.

Of course, if the developers can optimize the graphics enough (and are talented), the blockyness of the graphics really doesn't matter and you don't even see it. Like you said, games like Wip3out 3 and Final Fantasies pushed the PSX to it's limits.

Sure, there are also many PSX 3D games that look absolutely horrid, like Lifeforce Tenka.

the the psx was only crap if you compared it to today's console's or pc's. At the time of release it seemed amazing!!
