Infinium labs made a big mistake having their logos availible for download at their website Edited September 24, 2004 by Shibathedog

Shibathedog Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 yep, november 17 is the release date.
Shibathedog Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 thats not what their PR guy told everyone a few days ago
Gryph Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Hmm...then WhereIsPhantom.com is wrong... It doesn't matter when it comes it, it'll be crappy anyway.
Shibathedog Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 yaa, very, www.infiniumlabs.com also has the press release i think, also the system specs, and if it was going to be pushed back into 2005 i dont think they would post system specs yet. It can play PC games, which is cool, but it doesnt look like it will be too good for em Plus it doesnt even look like it has a CD/DVDROM drive how are you supposed to get them on there?
Wizard Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Some subscription service. But trust me, there will be other ways to aquire these games.
Shibathedog Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 heh, yeah, but they are repeating segas mistake... they are going to release the console, a whole bucnh of people are going to buy it and be like woo woohoo yay etc, and then a year or less later PS2 Xbox2 nintendo N5 or whatever are released, people start buying those like mad, and not only 1 console, but 3 consoles will over power the thing, and people will forget all about the phantom because they wil be to busy spending money on the newer systems. Plus, The newer systems will have alot more powerfull system specs so the games will be nicer and devvers are going to want to use the newer ones because of their power and etc, etc. Bottom line, it MIGHT do well for awhile, but then its going to die.
darkmage479 Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 whoa.. how out of the loop am i? what does this 'phantom' look like? anybody wanna post pictures of the controller and the console (no CD drive eh?) and what's the specs? and what is infinium labs? any other projects (gaming or no) they're associated with?

shin_nihon_kikaku Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 (edited) Infinium labs made a big mistake having their logos availible for download at their website How about trying to release a console is their biggest mistake. If it doesn't just end up canned like the Nuon and M2 I'll be very surprised. It hasn't got a chance of being even slightly successful. I can't believe some people are still daft enough to think they can break into the hardware industry. Look out for this and the "Gizmondo" in the skanky console graveyard. random guy Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 IF it isn't all just a scam or doesn't fizzle out before a release, this thing is doomed from day one anyway. The very idea that once you run out of space you have to permanently replace a game you've already paid for just to fit a new game on your hard-drive is just ridiculous, and will surely anger the consumer.
