okay k riddle me this. i just checked the price of a athlon 64 3200+ and its a bit more pricier then the pentium 3.0. only a few dollars tho so its no biggie if its bad ass like im hearing. if the pentium is a 3.0 ghz, what would you rate the 3200?

Running at a nice 2.23 GHz. Dependings on your mobo, you can OC pretty well with an Asus board.

so amd's 2.23ghz runs faster then 3.0? im a bit confused. if you were to rank it on pentiums ranking system what would you rank it? sorry if i ask too many questions but before this it was all pentiums for me

The A64 3200+ would be comparable to the Pentium 3.2 ghz processor. Well not equivalent, but that's what it would be compared against. And I'm pretty sure the A64 wins.

I find it kinda sad how those P4s are meant for gaming and all they do is excel better in OFFICE products more then games.

ok im sold amd 3200 for processor can you recommend any mother boards that arent too pricey? I need it to support 8x agp and ddr bla bla bla, asus souns good for now but id ont know how much i should pay for these things seeing as im gonna blow a fat load on a vid card

Asus is good, but expensive, but their worth the price. if your cheap, go for abit mobos. Theres another brane, but I forgot the name. Which is also good.

I have and EPoX mobo with the same chipset as K´dash. So far it has given me little trouble.

mmph didn`t read all the posts but beware wiht what motherboard you buy, it is one of the most important PC components not only for overclocking correct if i am wrong but Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS and ABIT are among the best, then there are other good brands like Epox and SOYO, i also saw that some peoploe use Shutle but i have no idea about it.
