After reading that article, I'm sticking with the Home Edition; I don't need those extra features. If I ever need the Pro, it shouldn't be too hard to find a copy online. :D

my cousin bought Xp pro for 20$ due to his college discount and he gave it to me

Damn! That is one cheap college discount! The cheapest college discount for XP Pro I've seen is about $70. Are you sure that wasn't the XP Pro Upgrade?

it's not a upgrade but the package is weird, it didn't come with anything it's just a plastic cover with the code on the back of it and it says not for retail on the CD

That is most likely an OEM vender package. Most of them don't work on other computer's then the original owner's.

so since you dont have to put an reg key for corp edition xp. does that mean it can be upgraded to any service pack without any detection of illegal windows. :(

some help plz

:D

Well in order to upgrade to SP1 you need to change the product key which can be done with a Product Key Changer. I don't know about SP2 since I haven't installed it yet. Apparantly that works with all versions of XP, legal and illegal.

You need to use those XP Keypatch thingies for SP1 for it work.
