The reason is that I've seen some of the (english) shirts on engrish.com - such as my favourite, 'miss urine tester USA', and I imagine that the Japanese would like getting your own back. Could you imagine getting a tattoo of a kanji that you think means 'brave warrior' or something, but actually means 'stupid hakojin'?!? People should search examples from Engrish.com I was thinking more along the lines of checking the proper meaning of a kanji and how it looks. Not something like "Oh man, that looks cool.
