Wizard Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 (edited) Alritey. The following characters have been added to the Capcom Fighting Jam roster. Information is from the lastest issue of Famitsu(Curtasy of the professor @ mmcafe); Vega (not the Spanish ninja)Jedah (Darkstalkers)Mukuro (Warzards)Rose (Street Fighter Alpha)Alex (Street Fighter 3) Now Isuka has this one new character named A.B.A. God knows what Daisuke was thinking when he made her. Anyways, she's a cration of some sort which was abandoned at birth. She has bandages wrapped all over her upper body and is bleeding in different spots. Her weapon is a key and she has 2 modes of play, which can be used when picking up blood packets all over the screen. Credits: MMcafe Like to add: Iggy said something about a beta test at the end of this month for CFJ. And now... DISCUSS! Edited June 16, 2004 by K`dash
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 My first question: what system is this game gonna be one?!
Wizard Posted June 16, 2004 Author Posted June 16, 2004 PS2 and an arcade board that isn't emulated yet.
Agozer Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 you mean atomiswave?Yes, he means Atomiswave. I'll take Guilty Gear Isuka over Capcom Fighting Jam, although both recycle old ideas to the max.
shin_nihon_kikaku Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 (edited) I said all these should be on it. except Makuro, I think 2 Red Earth characters was enough. Especially as there was only 4 playable characters and the excellent Leo is finally being re-used. I thought they might reveal more characters eventually. Anyway, it's still not sounding good enough! But Alex though...AT LAST!!!! Edited June 16, 2004 by shin_nihon_kikaku
Weirdy Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 if on CFJ they put a whole bunch of secret characters that are as hard to get as the ones on Street Fighter Alpha 3, then maybe I'll buy it.
Wizard Posted June 17, 2004 Author Posted June 17, 2004 A small update. But Vega (i.e. Bison) is using his SF2 move list, not his SFA/CVS2 move list.
OverlordMondo Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 So this Vega is really M. Bison, not the dood with the claws?
Wizard Posted June 17, 2004 Author Posted June 17, 2004 Vega (not the Spanish ninja)Hmmm Anyways, this is weakass SF2 Bison, not the uber powerful SFA2/3 one
Agozer Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Capcom should have just stuck with thwe original character names to avoid confusion.
Wizard Posted June 17, 2004 Author Posted June 17, 2004 I blame Capcom of America for making the change. Although M.Bison fits the evil dude quite nicely. Balrog isn't a spainish-like name.
Agozer Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 I blame Capcom of America for making the change. Although M.Bison fits the evil dude quite nicely. Balrog isn't a spainish-like name.Let's see: How many games are there that were censored for the maerican market? I can't keep track. I blame Nintendo of America for most of it, but it's not like the only one. SNK anyone?
nezumi Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 It wasn't censorship, it was an avoidance of potential legal hassle. You've heard of a big mean black dude named Mike Tyson, right? Now, imagine if some big mean black dude named M. Bison was in a game, and was also a boxer, much like this particular M. Tyson. Someone might want to sue... Rather than put up with that crap, Capcom of America shifted a few names around. I'd rather they just renamed that one character though... Balrog (traditionally a demon-like creature. quite fitting, given his fits of bloodlust.) was a much better name for the spanish ninja, and Vega just sounds better than "M. Bison" for an end boss.
