ok i know this been up many times and i used the search function. i was wondering what model of the dreamcast do i have to buy in order to play backed up games..

HKT-3020 read backups. HKT-3030s don't. But most are 3020s anyway.

Really? Shibathedog told me that HKT-3030s don't because those have an upgraded firmware that doesn't let it read CD-Rs.

 

If all Dreamcasts do read backups, I stand corrected.

HKT-3020 read backups. HKT-3030s don't. But most are 3020s anyway.

I don't know, but he told me twice to stay away from the HKT-3030 so I did.

$40?! Where you are getting it for $40? I got mine of ebay for $26 with controllers, VMUs, and 6 games.

i looked into gamestop.. 40.00 with a game and av cables and a controller..

 

ebay too much of a hassle.. and i got no credit card yet. so its easier to buy at gamestop...no?..

 

lol sucks to not having credit card.sometimes..
