Fatal Rose Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 allot of the time when i download a movie it wont show anything because it says.avi at the end of the file name. so manny times have i downloaded a video and it wont show on windows media player because it is a avi or whatever. does anyone know of a program that i can download to play these darn movies? i really need the help. thanks.

Rag Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Yep, they are. I use DivX player, either that or my Windows Media Player plays avis... I never really had a problem with it. You might need the newer version or something.

Its better than divx and xvid codec and all that sh¡t. The only thing I hate about it is it's ability to play.mkv videos(matroska w/dual audio)...its the best for ogm files too anyways, that is a media player, what he needs is the codec itself, not another media player

Xvid is coming up too, but it will be a while before it achieves true greatness... Anyway, this is a dicussion on media players, not codecs... which if you need to play any type of codec, use Media Player Classic! (I shoot myself in head for HORRIBLE shameless plug) Anon.
