I was going to only share this with staff... there is HOPE

Recommended Posts

I think many of our active or previously active members have become maybe a little cynical with the way 1Emulation has been ran the past few years. First and foremost, I will never take the full blame because that wouldn't make any sense. The emulation scene has changed greatly and a leader has to properly account for all of its staff members, as we all have our own personal lives and daily experiences to face outside of the Internet. Just browsing EFNET the other day (an IRC server) and checking out old IRC channels that I use to frequent only a few years ago, I was startled to find that many of them are now completely dead.

When you look at the emulation scene as a whole, there's always been one very obvious split, emulation sites with roms (let's call them "rom sites"), and emulation sites without roms (let's call them "emulator sites"). When you look at what sites lead the emulation scene, it's predominantly the rom sites, and many would argue it always has been this way. However, it's also fascinating to see what emulator sites remain at the top (there aren't many), and to look at how they manage this. Our present goal with 1Emulation is to essentially use the "tools" these emulator sites are using while pushing our social media presence.

Nobody said it would be easy, but it's fantastic that we are already seeing results. From increasing registrations on the forums, to monitoring an increase in site activity with Google Analytics, and finally a huge ranking boost on Alexa.com's Web Traffic Analyzer.

Who's making this happen currently? Everyone.

But specifically I'd like to mention the four: Sypherce, Hardcore Rikki, Robert, and Jitway. All four have been really pushing the site like I haven't seen in a long time. I want to personally thank them here and say we've got a long road ahead of us, but let's KEEP PUSHING!

Hope is in the air. :-)
