Devia Eleven
I installed Ubuntu on this Laptap last night out of curiosity, did a full wipe over Windows 7. The results are confusing, no more using Windows applications, (with the exception of Wine). The navigation is also fairly convoluted but I think I want to get accustomed to Linux. Hard Core Rikki
You'll survive this radical change: no more hunting for apps on the net, all fetchable from secure large repositories.
Inky
i installed xubuntu on my old ibook g3 as a goof. checked everything out, seemed to be working fine and a fair bit faster then OSX. haven't turned it on since.
VT-Vincent
I've used Ubuntu in the past on virtual machines, but not actual hardware. It makes a good virus-proof OS when you need one.
Weirdy
Nice. I've found that Ubuntu has a good balance between easiness and power compared to some of the other distros I've used. You might want to learn some CLI commands just in case.

LoRd_SnOw
Ubuntu has alot of repositories, some that are quite surprising. I Personally i use it when i want to get things done on time.
CJ Jackson
I like Ubuntu but I just don't like the way how the Linux kernel is designed, every time I update the kernel I have to recompile the drivers and that to me is an issue especially with non-open source drivers. If Linus moves to the Hybrid kernel and I probably will move to GNU/Linux.
