The TeamPlayer Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 It's not terrible. Download as many characters as you like. Most creators start off creating by editing other people's work. Just use it to learn at home then you can create a character yourself and release it. Or you can even ask other creators for permission to use sprites, coding, etc. And yes you can put an animation into a character easily. But you'll have to read a bit on what all makes it do what. You have to tell Mugen every little thing you want it to do.

-VIOLENCE- Posted December 5, 2003 Author Posted December 5, 2003 I got this program called PAL editer, and when i open the PAL file a colour wheel pops up this is used to change the colours of the character right? Taking screen shots of stages, do I have to walk and take pictures of the entire animation of the stage from left to right? Or can i just take pictures of regions of the stage? Thanks a lot TEAM PLAYER!
The TeamPlayer Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 (edited) For ripping stages you could just walk back and forth and rip them by layer (if they have layers. To get the tops of the stages riped you have 2 choices. The toughest is get a character that jumps really high and snap the tops like that. This method generally sux. The best way to do it is to rip stages with Nebula. With Nebula you can move the screen up or down in capcom games and SNK games. I think that is what the wheel is for I never used Pal editor. -VIOLENCE- Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Oh okay, you said.. "For ripping stages you could just walk back and forth and rip them by layer (if they have layers." that pretty much means i have to disable all the characters and stuff and then slowly walk forwards and snap pictures of each layer right? lol, thanks again team player you're the best
The TeamPlayer Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Just snap the center, left, and right of each layer. In PSP you can put each piece together to make 1 image. So just put the different layers in the sff alond with any animations the stages may have. So to answer your question... yes.
alexis Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 although i have learnt a lot the past days about editing all by myself i was wandering if you knew were i could get more info about srpite editing as well as music ripping
The TeamPlayer Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 Here's a few.http://primeop.tripod.com/mugenboss/main.htmlhttp://www.indie-rpg.net/pixel-zone/shtml/...tutorials.shtmlhttp://pixeltutorial.cjb.net/http://www.spritedomain.net/fighter1.htm
The TeamPlayer Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 (edited) No problem. Have you seen some of my edits in the sprite contest?http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php...?showtopic=3094 BTW what kind of music are you trying to rip? Edited December 8, 2003 by The TeamPlayer
-VIOLENCE- Posted December 8, 2003 Author Posted December 8, 2003 Hey everyone, team player I downloaded this other version of M.U.G.E.N. this older version i think that came before the one that i used to use. Which version you think is better? i use the 2000.04.14 and i think the other one i used to use was 2001.04.14 also i was looking inside the file folders for these sprites and it showed pictures of mr. gung fu in multiple poses, talking about these are the correct axis size or whatever. Is that the rules i'm supposed to follow? like size up all the characters according to that chart? oH yeah, i finished an animation teamplayer! lol... embarrassed***now don't laugh okay.. here is K' doing his special uppercut tell me if this is what i'm supposed to do in order to put this inside my game... don't laugh now... at least the background is pink!!! ^^;
The TeamPlayer Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 2001.04.14 is best, unless you can run the Linux version. Then you would want it. also i was looking inside the file folders for these sprites and it showed pictures of mr. gung fu in multiple poses, talking about these are the correct axis size or whatever. Is that the rules i'm supposed to follow? like size up all the characters according to that chart?Yup. Also be sure to read all his files and the other docs. I printed them all out myself. As for the animation. You did good with ripping the frames. But there is still 3 flaws.1. I see something appear in the right hand side of the pic.2. The shadow is still there, mugen gives characters a shadow itself. (technically the stages do)3.His fire effect should be a seperate animation. All effects are ripped seperately.You are going the right track though, I look forward to seeing more progress.
-VIOLENCE- Posted December 8, 2003 Author Posted December 8, 2003 wow, hee i'm glad i'm going the right way you said i must make the fire effect seperate? Sooo that means i will have to crop out K' and just make frames of the fire ne? THANKS TEAM PLAYER!
