Garcimak Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) No complains here, you just filled my hopes with the autofire, Just an "is it possible?question" I discovered lately that my favourite arcade racing game AKA Buggy boy (Upright) was perfectly emulated (thank to Philip Bennett), dunno if the driver can be ported over the old mame core. But it sounds like the holy grail for me.. nothing to do with the lame computers conversions. cpu :2 X 8086 5 Mhz1 X Z80 sound :2 X YM2149 1.8Lhz * 0.124u1: Hugh Allen replaced anonymous timer in TX1 driver with an allocated one to make state saving closer to reality.* 0.122u2: Philip Bennett reversed buggyboy/buggybjr 'Game Time' settings.* 0.122u1: Philip Bennett fixed Buggy Boy Junior - Game now playable. Changed description from 'Buggy Boy (Single Monitor)' to 'Buggy Boy Junior/Speed Buggy (Upright)'. Renamed (buggyb1) to (buggybjr). Fixed input and rom loading. Changed visible area to 256x240 and VSync to 54.100000 Hz. Replaced the 2x AY-3-8910A sound with 2x YM2149 and Custom.* 0.106u10: David Haywood added multiscreen support (3x 256x256) to clone Buggy Boy.* 0.104u7: Added prom ($1b00 - Road video timing?). fumanchu Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 when buggy boy was in the arcades was there a 3 screen version of it?dont know why,but im sure i seen a version with 3 screens before.maybe im wrong could someone clarify this please. edit/by the way the definitive and best port of buggy boy was on the commodore 64 believe it or not.till this day a lot of reviewers still say that.you should try it on vice-64. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7E9DtUlwfaM its still pretty good to this day.

You're right man, there was a 3 monitors version, nice sitdown cabinet, a truly forgotten gem pretty impressive back in 1986 ! Not yet emulated. Amiga/Atari ST - Amstrad cpc versions were decents ports including all the original circuits and secrets well reproduced but they really lack of driving physics, in the arcade, you have to be careful when steering while braking and all the tricky stuff to finish the races, all that feeling was removed, you had to compete with rivals buggys too. All that makes the original arcade essential for me. Anyway, i'll try the C64 port, the spectrum version looks good too. Edited September 5, 2008 by Garcimak
vice86 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Disregard my questions...just read the rules and saw we can't ask where to get CO Edited September 8, 2008 by vice86
Darwin C Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Can do that.... do you have a general rule I could use eg before 1982 ? or would it have to be an xml? Hi, my name is Carla. I´m new here and have some dudes with mamedox platinum 2. I can´t save state. I read the txt and followed the instructions. I changed Tdata and Udata in e: (xbox partition), i put platinum in my hard disk and all roms work perfectly, but i can´t save state.Could someoene, please, explain me what to do, step by step, with easy and simple words, from the beginning?? In the torrent, i had 2 isos (Platinum 2 and save 2), a txt and a platinum.sfv archive.Wich is the correct way?? Thanks a lot!!
dirk hermans Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 carla, why you post 3 times the same question on the forum???? i replied you in youre other topic: no solution yet !!!!
BritneysPAIRS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Cleaned up the OSD and Cheat OSD..... Cleaned up some other manufactures into there place..... Added 480p / 480i switching.Another layer of gloss onto the skin engine and naming of catageries....Cleaned up alot of the Preview screenshots. Thinking of removing saves etc if there are getting in the way as I dont support them.
dirk hermans Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 dear BritneysPairs i suggest to keep save states as for big part of games it works fine. And i`m using it regulary; by removing we cant use them anymore... like dynablaster; neobomberman, ... where you really need save state to finish these games. thnks
BritneysPAIRS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) OK I will keep saves in, but the current build I have removed screen rotation.... horizontal and vertical filtering method and scaling method. If this is to go back in it will be done better and more automatic. It can be changed in the ini if really needed to be.I have added 480P support switching and a change backout key from back+start to being start+white any objections now is the time Edited September 9, 2008 by BritneysPAIRS
fumanchu Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 i would like to see screen rotation kept in as i play a lot of shooters in coinops,so the sreen rotation is good for playing at full screen games like dodonpachi......esp rade.
BritneysPAIRS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 what about an option to automatically rotate vertical games? or is there a better way to do this?
fumanchu Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 what about an option to automatically rotate vertical games? or is there a better way to do this?well you spoke about doing a different combination of button presses to get back to the main menu in game.so why not just make it back+start to automatically rotate the vertical games its an option.seeing as everyone knows this button combination.
BritneysPAIRS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) people wanted back+start to not exit the game due to it being pushed by accident and cant be mapped... it is not left/right thumbstick push in together to exit the game if you set the option. I would say if your rotating you have a totally diff build for horizontal / vertical... So this may be a better idea?I could look at a Setting to be..... "All Games" or "Horizontal games" or "Vertical games" or "Vertical games rotated 90 degress" or "Vertical games rotated 270 degrees" would that best suit? Edited September 9, 2008 by BritneysPAIRS

I would say if your rotating you have a totally diff build for horizontal / vertical...I could add a filter to horizontal games only / filter to vertical games and rotate 90 / Allow all games type of setting?does that mean that if you are going to play any verical game that it will automatically rotate it 90degrees or by enabling this filter in options or whatever then the option is still there to do it manually?
BritneysPAIRS Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) it means it for Vertical Games rotated 90degrees would be the same as selecting rotate 90 degress now (the whole interface for everything inc games would rotate 90degress) but it would remove all horizontal games from the games list basically what is there now except if you rotate it 90 or 270 degress it would remove the horizontal games for you as they will look wrong Edited September 9, 2008 by BritneysPAIRS
