BlackKnight Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 You reposted the same pics? The MK team always has amazing concept art. Their in-game visuals usually lack though. I'd wait for vids / gameplay screens before making comments.
Devia Eleven Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I had the re-post them because my post started a brand new page.
BlackKnight Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 That depends on how many posts you view per page in your My Controls. For example, they are 2 posts, one after the other for me, on the 2nd page of this thread Are you holding out much hope for this game though?
Devia Eleven Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Maybe this is the time where Midway actually creates a decent MK game, we haven't gotten one ever since MK4 was released, Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon were complete dog crap, flock those games sucked. They said they were giving the fighting engine an overhaul, I really do not know what type of fighting engine they could implement without stealing from other fighting games. Personally I would rather have either the MK3 or MK2 formula mixed in with whatever formula they are creating, the MK4 engine wasn't half bad but it made everyone play the same, and the animations were a bit clunky. I strongly doubt that this game will be good, but I still hope it will be good, I still haven't seen any footage so I am still roughly skeptical about it.
XtecuterX73 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) wow what a lame ass looking and sounding game. mortal kombat did suck after the mk 1-mk-umk3. Trilogy was ok but that's where i stopped liking it. I was so looking forward to doing sub-zero's fatality on............................superman??? oh wait i forgot there won't be any fatalaties! why not mortal kombat vs streetfighter at least that would be interesting but that's just my 2 cents. HF- Edited May 28, 2008 by XxHellsFuryxX
Devia Eleven Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter isn't any better, more like Mortal Kombat Vs. Killer Instinct.
XtecuterX73 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter isn't any better, more like Mortal Kombat Vs. Killer Instinct. that would be better than fighting "holy rusted metal batman"!!!!! HAHAHAHA mk vs dc what a joke! Im sorry but even the first time i heard about it i thought it was a joke! HF-
Tynvar Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Mortal combat just doesn't fit anywhere really. None have been decent really, at first the violence was something that gave them lift but now you realize controls sucked, characters sucked.
Chaotica Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I disagree that MK sucked - I think it was and still is a great gaming franchise with fluid controls and interesting characters. It may not be perfect, but in the nineties it really took the fight up to Capcom. People who think MK was nothing more than gore really need to wipe the blood from their eyes, because beneath the blood and the fatalities was a decent fighting game that - horror or horrors - dared to be different from Street Fighter or King of Fighters. Mortal Kombat had more visceral fighting mechanics that relied less about combo attacks and more on avoiding making mistakes. Just because Mortal Kombat reveled in excess crimson and was not like Street Fighter does not automatically mean that it was a bad game. It's just a shame the franchise is being prostituted in such a way now.

Devia Eleven Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I agree as well, and I still humbly present Mortal Kombat Vs. Killer Instinct.
OverlordMondo Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Well, the graphics are good, I'll give it that. Still though, if they remove fatalities, they're gonna have to really step up the rest of the gameplay, because it was sub par in previous titles.
