Inky Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Probably not. thats good. you should go into proctology so you can get a license plate that says ASSMAN
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 4 buttons all the way. 6 buttons are retarded and useless. SNK does have strengths for specials and you can always get the equivalent of a medium attack with direction+light attack from most characters anyway. there's just no point in 6 buttons. hard attacks should be used for slower but a bit more damaging specials and light attacks for faster but less damaging specials. there's no need for a balance between the two because there's just not enough screen space to take full advantage of it, and you can play mind games with 4 buttons just fine anyway. yes Demitri is a giant bucket of crap in SvC but that's just a design flaw and shouldn't be attributed to the Neo Geo's 4 button scheme. And if you consider the fact that some capcom games use 3xpunch or 3xkick for some moves, it makes it even more overkill. The maximum simultaneous button press you should ever use are 2 buttons and that's for SDMs/HSDMs/LDMs. I've always hated the 6 button scheme and 4 buttons work out great for me.

Increses flexibility with characters. Means you can add MORE special normals for characters.

So in a sense, you get a special normal that's just as useful as a medium attack.

Agozer Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 You just know a thread is/will be awesome when some people talk about the intricacies of the game mechanics in 4-button vs. 6-button control schemes, and in turn some talk about proctology and gynecology.
Chibi Kami Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I'd have to say the 4-button method works best for me. when capcom ports their fighter to the console, it always ends up with heavy attacks assigned to shoulder buttons, and that makes control kind of awkward. Besides, Samurai showdown had heavy attacks too. All you had to do was hit light and medium for rthe attack type.
Skythe Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Besides, Samurai showdown had heavy attacks too. All you had to do was hit light and medium for rthe attack type. I thought all you had to do was hit C. I can't remember, it's been forever since I've played a SamSho.
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 That's in Samurai Spirits 4. In most others you need to press A+C, afaik, in which case C is mid slash.
Skythe Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Ah, figures. That's the one I played the most out of.
Wishdokta Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Speaking of 6 buttons smashing, some SF HD Remix stuff:> http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26377 Seems they -surprisingly- stick to good old capcom gameplay.
