Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Personally I think we should be given the option when playing console games. Select a perfect arcade port or the fixed version in the options menu. That would make everyone happy.
Wizard Posted February 17, 2008 Author Posted February 17, 2008 Fact: Even though SStenka had both an Original (Arcade) and Arranged (Rebalanced) modes, the game still had several bugs, some of which were game stopping. Which drew the irk of many fans. Fact: When KOFXI was released on consoles, it also had both an Original and Arranged mode, but once again, suffered from bugs. While it had less bugs in the Japanese version, the Euro and American version suffer from bad, bad slow downs.
Agozer Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Fact: When KOFXI was released on consoles, it also had both an Original and Arranged mode, but once again, suffered from bugs. While it had less bugs in the Japanese version, the Euro and American version suffer from bad, bad slow downs.I can confirm the bugs in KOFXI in PAL mode especially. First off, since the game has black borders in PAL mode, the lower black bar is bright blue. Second, the game is indeed horribly slow. Third, there are SERIOUS graphics corruption problems in many stages. And finally, the game shows you a black screen after the end credits, and output a "selection" sound when you press a button. After this, the Game Over screen is presented. Considering the amount of inexcusable bugs in the PAL KOFXI, I'm returning my copy back to the store. It is also inexcusable how Ignition Entertainment greenlighted such a broken port. It's as if they have never heard of quality control.
BlackKnight Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Agozer- I run mine in 60hz and as far as I can tell its identical to the NTSC-J disc. No serious speed or graphic issues there. Try that at least before you take it back, if you have a TV that supports it.
Agozer Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Try that at least before you take it back, if you have a TV that supports it.That's just the thing; I don't have a TV that supports it. And yes, I've tried with the 60Hz mode (no colors) and noticed that, like you said, the problems are nowhere to be found in that mode. What this proves in turn is that publishers (I'm looking at your sloppy work, Ignition) only do quality control on the 60Hz Mode and not the "regular" 50Hz mode.
Fatal Rose Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Does not look very next gen to me to be honest. Looks like updated CPs3 sprites.

fumanchu Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 it does look good but it dont do anything for me,they will probably use these new sprites for the next 10-15 years anyway. Not that its a bad thing,i never really minded the lack of sprite updates in the last KOF games.if it gets a 360 release then ill still buy it as theres no chance of an arcade near where i live having this game.
